Marble Hornets.
Marble Hornets.
Verbatim is the way to go. Even their lower-quality discs made in Taiwan (vs. the higher quality Singapore ones) more often than not turn out better than Memorex. And again - as suggested - do as slow a burn as possible. I'd bet you already knew that, but sometimes common sense advice is all you need.
^Nah, Fink. In the UK they actually got a new transfer. We are not so lucky.
If I'm not mistaken, the GOUT acronym is explained at least once.
You're a bunch of fucking weirdos.
It's obviously Dark Helmet.
I think more likely than not if this is fake Shaun will pop his head over here again. He's the one who told us in the first place about how the cancer scare might not have been 100% legitimate.

It's been talked about before; there was some talk of redoing the petition after the blu release, but it fell through. It's only a mater of someone actually writing the petition.
Modernized color pallet or not this looks unbelievably better than the current blu. That's a bit heavy on the reds, and certainly doesn't have the grain structure that this new one does.
^oh shit.
^This. I know you're still around, Zombie. Have you not had any luck with the deinterlacing? I know I can deal with just running it through a filter in VLC if that's what's holding the release back. I still have the workprint, and I've only really skimmed it because I thought the real thing was coming soon.
^I think that might actually be the result of a poor attempt to remove some of the aliasing. I have no proof, but I think someone has suggested that in the past.
^Frank, please. Stop. Hardly any of your "corrected" shots ever look good, they are always blown out in one way or another (Han's face, here) and I get the feeling you've ignored numerous pleas that you calibrate your monitor. And, as you said, your process has no practical application as of yet.
If DJ can get his personal problems with the guy out of the way for a moment it might be worth looking at the hybrid, video-only disc that msycamore made and has recently offered to post. Even if ends up not to either of your tastes, it could serve (at the least) as a good proof of concept.

^Scruffy? That you?
Cats on Mars. Had to be done.
^Anytime. I'm looking forward to the full version, which I'm sure of course is a long way off. But that was quite a good teaser, huh?
...bong whatnow?
THIS IS GETTING OUT OF HAND...
oh dear...

Pizza Hut gingerbread men.
80s Pizza Hut in general. I miss the old logo, the myriad hut shaped restaurants, the red & white tablecloths, the placemats with puzzles on them and the little red pencils, the gingerbread men, submarine sandwiches with potato chips...
^That's what I've heard. They haven't been on the market in the US for a number of years, though, and buying a used CRT is not really a good investment - considering it could just go out one day. Although, to be fair, what I find hilarious about new TVs is they're basically computerized to the point where it will freeze! Sometimes I've gotten stuck on a menu and there's nothing I can do... not even turn off the TV from the buttons on the side.
^Care to share your new results? Preferably with the Leia shot. I've found that's usually a good indicator of how the reds work, given her really red cheeks. Also, something you definitely did right was your results give a little color to her dress. According to mverta, it's supposed to be somewhat cream colored rather than the flat white you see on most versions.
