they replaced the screen with an hdtv. The image is fantastic, but the edges are even more cropped than the normal 50" version so this makes hitting the edge figures in the later levels nearly impossible.
.

How does that work anyway? Shouldn't it not look any better given that the game has a fixed resolution? I mean, the one thing a new screen would be good for - for sure - is no burn-in, but still...

^I think Tracy's death is the only movie twist I had not spoiled for myself before seeing a movie within the past few years. So, needless to say, it was very striking my first watch - as you said. I find OHMSS a bit hard to rewatch sometimes due to its pacing, but make no mistake that I enjoy it. You have to be ready to invest in it, though - unlike the average Moore film, where I can just pick it up spur of the moment and turn off my brain.

Updating Ghostbusters and Back to the Future........

All right. I'll take this seriously for a second here: yes, as long as the originals are preserved and available for the anal retentive film buff in everyone. Ghostbusters looks ok to me, but the matte boxes on the dog-creatures could go without me going crazy (the current Blu-ray looks gorgeous except for how obvious those are).

That said... prepare for shitstorm.

^While you're right on the 35mm comment, you're dead wrong about the blu-ray being a good representation of how the film looked. The new transfer is riddled with modern color pallet choices, such as the strong teal tint throughout. It looks like Ridley Scott's final cut of Blade Runner for God's sake! That's definitely not how an '80s movie looks in its natural state. There's some digital manipulation of the colors going on in the most recent release for sure.

I guess I should clarify what I meant by that. I take no issue with Sir Alec Guinness' resentment of Star Wars; in fact, I understand it. I take issue with stories that make him out to be a pompous individual, such as the one in the OP of this thread where he pays Mark Hamill to go away. What's interesting is that stories like this really contrast with official statements, wherein everyone involved is candid about his distaste for the films but states that he was professional throughout filming nonetheless. Paying someone to go away doesn't sound professional to me!
