My inner child is boiling up inside, I'm not sure if I can resist this. I grew up with and prefer the stage musical of Peter Pan to the Disney version, and to see it for real? I don't know how Cathy Rigby can play the part at 59 but reviews seem to say she's not doing so bad. Won't be Mary Martin, for sure, but I'm in.
Spent the last few hours of the Bond movies being available on Netflix in the US on the Cap's favorite, The Living Daylights. To sum up my opinion: really, REALLY good. John Barry's score shined more than it has ever before for me! I guess it makes sense that it was his last in the series. Dalton seems to have gotten a bad rap as Bond and given this movie I'm not sure why. Highly recommended. Probably the best serious one since From Russia with Love. It was nice to see a serious Bond movie that meets the middle ground between action and espionage, which I think the series struggles with from time to time.
I'll be coming back to it, but much like OHMSS I wouldn't call it a casual viewing movie. Have to be ready to get invested again.
Wasn't it already said that Lucas was looking to get someone else to play Luke? I'd love to see Mark Hamill reprise the role, but if the rumors are true about the characters being in their 30's 40's tops it'd take some serious Tron-level effects to make it work. What's weird is that it's only been said about Mark Hamill specifically, and not the other two.
But more importantly, good for George for starting an education charity. I knew he'd pledged to give away half his fortune, but that particularly raises him up a bit in my book. He may lie about his legacy, but I'd never call him a bad person.

You're right in that Song of the South is/was a bad example. Better examples may be censorship (e.g., The Three Caballeros and The Rescuers) or crappy colortiming (e.g., Snow White).
Honestly I doubt the above was intentional but it's certainly a unique perspective that I can appreciate.

Nothing came of the last rewrite to the petition as shown by the embarrassingly low numbers Pat_Man has shown us. I doubt Disney buying LFL will reinvigorate fanrage or anything.
