Man of Steel - Your thoughts

Although I agree Doomsday wouldn't be a bad choice either I'm gonna side with SilverWook and say that Darkseid would make a great villain for another Superman movie. There's so much to pull from in Jack Kirby "New Gods" world -- and as far as I know he's a much more interesting villain than Doomsday if only because of his motivations and backstory.

That said, I think he'd be best for a Justice League movie. In my dream world that movie would go like the end of Superman TAS where Darkseid drives Superman mad and he almost destroys the world... that would be interesting.

....where in God's name do you live that movie tickets are $5.50? In Southern California, my student discount tickets I buy on-campus are $8 -- and that's $5 less than you pay at the multiplex! It's getting so bad and I'm so damn stubborn that I almost never go to the movies even when I really want to see something.

Is Youtube ever going to get their act together? Defaulting to the lowest resolution when selecting full screen, (then stalling when you try to change it) is getting really annoying.

Recently, on my windows 7 when using Chrome --- their own browser -- certain videos won't even let me change quality on the fly. The buttons other than pause or minimize just flat out stop working and I can't explain why.

Google... get your shit together.

It was a TV series.  104 episodes - nothing to sneeze at.  Look up "Adventures of Superman" and "TV series".  I watched reruns of it all the time when I was a kid.  Batman too.

Oh, I'm familiar with the Reeves TV series. I thought we were just talking about Supes on the big screen. I even own season 3 on DVD.

EDIT: This might remind me more of the music for games like Wii Sports or its sequel on that island.

This. A thousand times this. I kept thinking edutainment video game, actually, but I might be jaded because I had a ton of those - even a few Star Wars ones.

This is a fun and whimsical medley that I enjoy the hell out of, even if it feels a little cheap sometimes.

Thanks for the recommendation. THIS. IS. AWESOME!

The sets and lighting are AMAZING. Kirk and Scotty are fantastic. I'm not as crazy about Bones and Spock, but there's enough other greatness to make up for it.

Do you happen to know what their expected turnaround times are for each episode?

My friends and I know of Vic Mignogna through his other work as a voice actor.  While he's talented, he's known to be a tad bit arrogant.  So, with that in mind, we watched it together and critiqued his. EVERY. move. It's pretty clearly a vanity project; look at how Kirk always gets the last word.  And, as much as I'd love to hate it on that alone, it's ... perfect.  We really enjoyed it, some of the acting aside.  The lighting, the music, even most of the cinematography - almost everything felt right, technically.

I'd give it a B+.  The plot is compelling even with some of the Kirk fanwanking going on here.  And props to Michael Forest for bringing some gravity to an otherwise mediocre cast.  Needless to say, I'll be tuning in for the next episode.

More importantly, I started DS9.  Just finished season one, and I'm liking it.  I hear it gets... Miles... better, so I'm looking forward to the next few seasons.  It's a little slice of life to start out for sure.</span>

I'm starting on TNG now. I'm two episodes in already, and so far I haven't seen anything all that interesting. It's too early to give up the ship yet, though, so I'll give it at least half a season before I decide whether or not to bother continuing with it.

Season 1 minus the pilot with Q is absolute garbage... and even that has its crap moments.  Season 2 improves a little but the stories are still so silly and most of the actors haven't really hit their stride yet.

Seriously.  You could practically skip everything EXCEPT "The Measure of a Man" and "Q Who" and still feel comfortable with everything after.
