I still own the Japanese Superbit DVD's. I thought they were mastered from the non-remastered edition?
If anyone doesn’t mind the exclusion of a Nancy Sinatra song (this was the only bit of info i could find regarding the home video version rescored bit)
anyone reckon the PCM track from this Laserdisc of Jaws be worth preserving and syching up with the rather impressive Blu-ray?

I understand the mono track is already on the BD but only as 786kbps DTS 2.0
I'd be very interested in hearing that as well. It's a shame though that the Blu-ray's colour timing is a tad off

saying that, it's better than the remastered DVD that got released. Still got my 1999 DVD for the MST3K style commentary

No English subs naturally and i can't see any comments regarding PQ but it may prove to be a usuable video source
It would be interesting to find out what the story is with the DTS mixes for JP on the R2 Japanese Superbit DVD and the R6 DTS DVD
I did own the R6 DVD for a while but sold it to get the Blu-ray set
ah now that is something i've been looking into. currently got the 1988 Laserdisc and THX laserdisc as well
accordng to some over at lddb forums, the 1988 LD should have the original 35mm Stereo mix
now that has got me excited :)

haven't got this BD release but did hear that it also had some issues with the audio as well. missing sound fx etc. was that fixed as well?
i emailed him the other day and he's quite happy to trade for rare stuff, fan edits etc
I actually had this version as well with ads on VHS (with a bootleg of ROTJ afterwards on the same tape)
but it went to the dump years ago when i had to clear out my VHS collection
putting this idea out there hoping someone has the time and resources

I remember owning the R6 DVD's of the JP trilogy and it was reported that they were mastered directly from the DTS cinema tracks as well. they sunded very good compared to the R1 DVD i had at the time
I've just recieved a copy of the BD with this preserved DTS track on it. look forward to comparing it actually.
From i've heard so far (only a few mins of it) the amount of work that went into preserving the track is phenomal!!!

did anyone managed to pick this up? I saw this at the cinema 3 times and the audio on the DVD and BD have no where near the impact that it did at the cinema
plus it would give us the chance to correct the slightly wonky AR as well
I've managed to have a skim through the disc now with the 2012 BD transfer and Dark_Jedi's Mono mix (with extra special thanks to Jonno)

i did read somewhere that they've gone back and fixed some of the sound fx in Vertigo but again, it's hearsay. still waiting to hear about the Mono audio though but from Universal's track record, i'm hoping that it's the one from the masterpeice collection

I got my Jaws BD the other day (stunning i might add) the 7.1 audio is really good but the remixed sound fx stills bugs me
i know there is a mono track on there but it's standard DTS. I was wondering if there was a better version on a Laserdisc somewhere (a bit along the lines of the current Terminator mono project)
