"Lucas can't find home for Star Wars spin-off"
Time
All I can say here is that my sons will be presented them as I was presented them first.I will also present them the SE's.My eldest has already watched both the OOT and the SE's and he prefers the OOT versions (which I am pleased about).I like ROTS and can take or leave TPM and AOTC.As I have said before here I can watch SW in many ways.I can take it as the star wars fairy story, the original trilogy or the saga and I can enjoy all three aspects in different ways although my true love is,and will remain, the original film. However I will let my boys make their own minds up albeit with some fatherly nudges in the right direction.
As for the TV show I know some guys working on it and they are the kinds of fan similar to myself and they all seem rather positive about it so I will retain an open mind-for now.

Be very interested to see this finished.I really like the clone wars animation and my son just loves them and he would get a real kick out of seeing them done in this fashion.Someone mentioned that this has already been done in this way as a feature format but I have never heard of it.Keep us updated as I will eagerly anticipate this being finished for my son!

No more Star Wars from Master Replicas
Time
MR were taken over by Corgi earlier this year.I am of the opinion that the new company didnt want to renew the license as they realised that MR had pretty much run out of room for SW pieces to make. All the sabers had been made, with the possible exception of some of the anonymous Jedi council sabers, mostly all the blasters had been made, pretty much all the important helmets had been made (except for the TIE pilot and Royal guard) and other than some pieces like a Vader TIE advanced or a Star Destroyer pretty much all the studio scale models had been made.MR had simply gotten everything they could from Star Wars.I believe it was Corgi, rather than LFL,that drove the decision not to renew the license. Some of the MR stuff this year has been poor.I dont think the trooper lid was the disaster that has been made out.Sure it was idealised but they need to cater to a larger market and not just uber-accuracy colectors. However quality did noticeably slip with things like the paint job on the Fett blaster which was a total disgrace.
Personally I would have liked a Dooku FX as that would have been a really nice FX saber. The problem being now,of course,is that some new company will get the license and just start rehashing all the same old pieces that everyone already has.

IMPORTANT BEHIND THE SCENES INFO ON THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY FROM LONDON FILM AND COMIC CON-SEP '07
Time
Regardless of Kurtz's situation his signature is on ALL the Kurtz/Joiner COA's so he is as guilty as Joiner in this.He is PERFECTLY aware of the nature of the pieces being passed through the major auction houses with his name on them and these are not fly-by-night auctions. They are major publicised events and to excuse this behaviour through his bankruptcy is not acceptable.Gary Kurtz has no defence for this.My apologies for hijacking the thread and I'll leave it at this but I cannot abide the way Kurtz has been ripping people off for years with this stuff.

Lightsaber in space...
Time
At the time it was felt there was no need as it was not thought there would be any more movies made. There's actually, and perhaps more surprisingly, very little from ESB in the archives also.ROTJ is well represented in the archives though. If anyone is interested in a tour video of the LFL archive I have a link somewhere I could find and post? Some pretty amazing stuff in there. Also for those interested in this sort of thing:
Star Wars Collector's Archive Props Page
Some great stuff and contributions from collectors including the ANH Death Star model.
And dont forget,ahem,
MY SITE!!!!lol

My Luke ROTJ hero saber replica is one of only three made by Norman Harrison (the man who created the original sabers) since the end of filming. As close as you can get to the real deal outside the LFL archives.Got it signed by Mark Hamill at CE-pics on my site in replica section.
The piece you are talking about in Returning to Jedi has been the subject of much controversy in the prop world as the Harrisons claim it was made for filming a scene in which Luke builds his own saber in Obi-Wan's hut on Tatooine. It wasn't.It is a piece that was never delivered to Lucasfilm and has details which are not consistent with a piece that would have been made during or for filming. The crystal in the hilt is green and as many of you good folks in particular here will know the saber was originally meant to be blue and was only changed to green in post when it did not stand out clearly enough against the sky on the sail barge scenes.
It is a very nice saber but was not made or intended for use in the production and, despite what the Harrisons and ElstreeProps say,is a replica also.

There were several hilts used for Luke in ROTJ one of which was an old Obi-Wan stunt saber from ANH which was repainted and used as a stunt for Luke.As far as I know there were two main hilts used for the stunt work and for costume and then the so-called "hero" saber which was machined and used only for the insert shot of Vader examining Luke's saber when he says "I see you have constructed a new lightsaber" which was added in post-production.

Who got their membership pkg and "letter" from George Lucas?

GOD DAMN! I hate it when everything turns into this depressing bullshit! You are all such Debbie Downers I want to blow my brains out! Now if we and all you Negative Nancies can take nothing else from this letter, it's that if Lucasfilm will not, for some reason, from strange excuses to outlandish conspiracies, will not release the best movie ever in a proper format for the classic fans as those who come to this forum, we'll just have to show a little ingenuity. Of course in this letter, he's clearly talking about making your own damn movie, to go out there like he did as a young man and get in the dirt and come up with something new (yeah he probably not even be talking about fan films dawg), but we can take so much more from this. The technology today can do so much more than what it could do when he was a kid (although it's a few thousand pixels short of the same quality) in terms of both power and distribution. Dammit, we have everything we need. We have the 2004 DVDs, we have HD broadcasts, we have a laserdisc master tape on DVD, we have the mono mix, we have the stereo mix, we have an isolated score, God dammit we even have the back channels of the 2004 DVD mixed properly, we have avisynth, we have insert generic expensive editing program (and failing that, we have software piracy), we have everything that we need to do what we need them to do. Why is it that OCP's Classic Editions are the only DE-SEing projects in existence???!!! I thought with time that is all I would see on these forums! Put down your PT DVDs!!! Stop fan editing them! They're not good! They have no souls!

If Lucasfilm won't give Star Wars what it needs, then we'll just have to.

I'm sorry, it's just when you watch your own DE-SEing project with a friend of yours on his HD television, with the real Fett speaking right now cue, and everything with a place and everything in its place, when you leave your disc there for your friend to have, and print out for him the cover art you yourself created, and when you give it to him he's all "Dude sweet!", and when days later he's watching the film yet again with the isolated score, and all this you yourself put together, and have everything you need to do it two more times (three times cause you're convinced you could still do better with the one that's done!), and have everything you need to give it to the whole world with an internet connection, well fuck.

No, it won't be perfect, it won't be perfect until Lucasfilm does a proper transfer from the original negatives once again. And if he's actually taped over his copy, then another can be easily salvaged from deep within the safe, secure, environment-controlled vaults of the British Film Institute or the American Film Institute. Now come on people, cheer the fuck up.
