Official: 'THE CLONE WARS' movie in Theaters 8/15/08
Time
Well I quite liked the animated series and my son just LOVES the Clone Wars and as he is only four so for me it will just be a thrill to take my son to see Star Wars in the cinema as I have never had that opportunity and would not want him to miss out on it.I mean some of my best memories from childhood are of Star Wars on the big screen so I would want him to have that too.
So I will look forward to it.The guys here who know me know I am not as vehemently anti-prequel as others here.I still want a restored OOT and that's why I am here and I dont think that one thing necessarily precludes the other. At any rate it will be a blast going to star wars on a big screen with my son!

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time
Ady I just wanted to say that my son watched this today,he is 4,and has watched the SE and the OOT versions(we watch the OOT versions more obviously) and he was amazed by this. His reaction to the new establishing shot of the Death Star before the briefing room and the new battle of Yavin were really something!I wish you could have seen his face when he saw the Death Star with all the star destroyers and the TIE's swooping in.If you could have seen his reaction Mojo's nonsense would really mean nothing.
Anyway just thought I would pass that onto you and PLEASE do ESB and ROTJ somewhere down the road.My son sends his thanks!

I agree.Possibly a different kitten.
Or a prairie dog.

How about my daughter swooping in to catch a prairie dog? Will that work?

Jason I think it was people who helped Ady with the work in the credits-not just everyone on the board before November!
The work is astounding.I only got a chacne to watch it last night and it is amazing.best compliment I can give is what has been said already-it is the only version of ANH I will watch from now on.Superb stuf Ady.Congrats on your dedication and take a break!

Star Wars: The Best of 2007 (Looking Back at 30 Years)
Time
Take a breath...relax......
I grew up watching these damn films on Betamax so anything is a damn improvement for me!Would I like to have a really high quality version of the OOT?Yes sure as hell I would, that's how I came to be a member here but because there isn't one right now will not stop me taking the things I love from the films. You know it is an attitude I cant understand wishing the films never existed.Watch (in whatever kind of quality you can-fan-made from the top folks here, the GOUT,old VHS,whatever),enjoy, relax. They're good films you know...

Star Wars: The Best of 2007 (Looking Back at 30 Years)

Bottom line:
A comprehensive Star Wars set in either HD-DVD or Blu-Ray (i would say it is more likely to be Blu-Ray) containing SE's,OOt and theatrical and other versions of the PT plus bonuses will happen over the next couple of years. There is a boatload of cash to be made from it so that is what drives LFL so it will happen. The average consumer, diehard and casual fan alike will buy a comprehensive set like that so it is a cash-in waiting to happen. What you guys think that it wont happen before the release of the live-action show to hype that up?

Latest issue of SW Insider (#98). Some interesting stuff...

Well oddly enough there is more from ANH in private collections than most of the films as there was essentially no security. They just didnt think it would be that important to keep it or that they would need any of it again.Costumes, helmets, lightsabers all chucked in a bin out the back of Elstree or taken home by the crew.To my understanding this jacket was sold in the US and has very solid provenance.Actually on this topic a friend of mine recently bought the trousers worn by Cushing as Tarkin in ANH.Prices now are much, much higher as the profile of the original prop hobby has been raised and it is now known how much money is to be made from it but years ago it wasn't as widely recognised and things went pretty cheap.
Lucas didn't actively start building the archive and putting all the stuff in it until ROTJ so there is actually comparatively little in the LFL archive from ANH and ESB.

Why, oh, why do they cancel shows this good???

It was fantastically well written that episode.Jubal Early was a great character-very odd and you really start to get a sense of River's importance in that episode also.I was SO psyched to get that pistol!Terrible shame it was cut short.I have some screenused Reaver costume parts from the final battle with the reavers at the end of Serenity coming soon too and also some screenused bank heist money from Serenity.I also love the episodes "Ariel" and "War Stories" but it was a superb show all round. To my understanding a lot of the problem with Firefly was the wider audience reaction that they just didn't know what to make of it with the clash of western and sci-fi.I always thought that was what made it so superb. That clash of the past and the future to make a completely unique entity.Good stuff.
