Star Wars: REBORN - The Complete Saga (* unfinished project *)

ooh. temple of doom edit? what have you done with it? i think it suffers from a bit of cheesey dialogue, and an annoying blonde woman...

i know you said previously that you wouldnt consider an indiana jones IV reborn, but i reckon it just needs shaving a bit.

enough of that, just want to say im really glad your project is going well and you guys are ok.

The Lord of the Rings, Marathon Cut (Released)
Time

Some friends and myself are having the traditional “Lord of the Rings Extended Edition Marathon” again this monday, so for this I am making a rough 10hour movie cut.

its nothing too artistic like most of the fan edits, mainly just rearranging the endings, beginnings and moving a few scenes around to make the flow a little smoother.

so far i havnt found anyone else doing this, but quite a few of us have been fantasizing about it for a while, so i wonder if anyone had any ideas for any additions?

so far I have:

 • removed the final “farewell” scenes from FOTR and TTT, in exchange for their repsective “hello” scenes
 • the opening scene with gollum from ROTK has been shortened and slipped into the beginning
 • the film titles, ie “Fellowship of the Ring” etc have been removed (sadly just cut the footage out)
 • moved gandalf vs balrog form the beginning of TTT to his little speech when he appears later in the same movie
 • moved some of the arwen scenes around
 • moved gollums transformation to a later point during his speech during TTT

thats it off the top of my head.

if anyone is interested i will try and upload it as a torrent later on. its really just designed for a days slobbing around and will rarely be viewed (for health reasons!😛)

on that note, it did remind me slightly of Friends during season 10 when they would just stand around grinning nostalgically instead of actually acting....

oh well....i dont think any film can match up to the last crusade, quite a pedastil to match.

how is progress anyhow? yours is the project i talk about most at uni, and is what gains most interest overall!

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

ive been thinking about the whole captain needa's shuttle thing.

i'm not sure it is necessary to have his shuttle in as we already know he is getting one from the dialogue, but a scene of the star destroyers is required to at least bring the viewer's attention back to the fleet, so thus the shuttle makes a bit of sence as just something to catch our attention, and then maybe to remind us who the dead guy is!

so i think whatever shot you use should contain the key elements, ie the superstar destroyer and (probably) a shuttle. i wonder if you could use a similar, but far smaller, version of Vader's shuttle approaching the DSII, ie

[FRONT OF SHUTTLE] -----> [REAR OF SHUTTLE APPROACHING DSII (or reimposed executor)]

if you flip the scenes horizontally and change the speed and distance it could be disguised nicely and save you working on any nasty CG.:)

i really liked that shot too, except that i think they were walking a bit slower than they appeared to be in the shot before. ironically this is probably one of my favourite SE additions, yet they took it out in the 2004 edition!:P the edition of the ROTJ shuttle in ESB brought them together a bit more for me.

this has lead me to remember captain needa's shuttle. are you going to replace the old boxlike shuttle that we see for a few seconds with the ROTJ one?

What depresses me is that people seem to have forgotten what star wars actually looked like before the horrible 2004 DVDs.

apologies if my responses seem to be urging you to "change" star wars, and if they do seem too crazy. i must admit i wish i could go back in time to when i had just my uncle's trilogy on VHS (long before the prequels) when it all felt so much more different.

the desaturated colours i must admit fit the darker feel of ESB. the blues they added looked great back in the 90s, but now look almost fadish to me. the grey imperial tones do fit the "machine" look that the empire embodies.

forgive me for asking but what exactly does GOUT stand for? i know what it is, just cant place the initials.:P

i think all the colour corrections overall make the frames look alot sharper and the image quality is improved significantly, ie the bluish tinges did make the colours too similar and dated.

were they tinged blue deliberately though to make the planet seem colder and alien? i was wondering because now the tinge has gone (mainly with exterior shots) it does feel like something is missing as it may run the risk of looking too "real" (sounds daft i know!).

there is one particular scene that always bugs me as it looks SO fake in comparison to the rest of the hangar scenes. it is of three rebel soldiers talking, with a rebel transport in the background (it appears right after the scene with the "general veers prepare your men" scene) i think the contrast on the actors is far too high in comparison to the background as well as the fact they do appear to be just stood in front of a painting.

the whiteness as oppose to the blueness makes the colour palette far more inline with ANHR (i cant wait till you fix the AOTC colours!:D)

as you are now making my favourite film all the more perfect, i owe you a huge THANKYOU!

i was thinking last night about the addition of music in the lightsaber duels, mainly in the PT, and thus how ady has balanced this by including music in ANH.

this may be the wrong thread, but what would the PT lightsaber fights be like without the music? personally i prefered them using the lightsabers themselves as the backing music, and the dialogue being more prominent for the drama, as well as the silence building the tension.

any thoughts? have any talented folk done this already?

the inclusion of the DSII after the credits was inspired by the end of the old computer game "doom", if anyone remembers the bunny on the spike, then the slow reveal of the gateway to hell.

as long as ady doesn't use the music from doom im sure erik stormtrooper's idea would work nicely.

I am agreeing that a death star II appearance would be intrusive in the film, or at the least needlessly distracting, but i do have an idea:

earlier in the film, ie when the super star destroyer is first seen, endor could be viewed in the background, but WITHOUT the DSII. this would hopefully allow the viewer to subconsciously be familiar with the moon.

the film could progress as usual and then eventually end, then after the credits as a bonus (though it may seem painfully cliche) we could see the imperial fleet drifting around endor, like earlier in the film, then slowly pan left to distantly reveal a very de-constructed DSII.

someone suggested that green was something associated to rank, ie yoda and qui-gon, like some jedi graduation thing, would have been interesting to see obi wan's lightsaber repainted green for the whole saga after he becomes master in ep3 - 4. though i agree, i do feel that teh green gives luke that edge as oppose to the blatent blue-red/GOOD VS EVIL blandness.

its cool how he wears black aswell.

i guess the whole movie was just one trap after another, which lead me to think...

THE RULE OF THE TWO, "No more than two sith may be present at any time"

therefor when the emperor and vader are debating about luke being "turned", they must also be aware that one of them is going to kill the other one....(even though both of them openly suggest it at some point)

the only solution to this is that the emperor may not have told vader about this? or would he have known from his jedi teachings?

or would thay have disposed of tis rule....

(or the *annoying* fact that lucas kinda made it up after ESB)

Episode 3 - Editing Back in Progress (* unfinished project *)

do women look that pregnant? i quite like it as it will make her look more vulnerable later on.

i posted this on another thread earlier, but i found this video on youtube that someone had done and thought it made the scene easier to follow, and seems to make anakin look much more sith like.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4puaVsdKUuk

solving the lightsaber continuity would seem difficult, but im sure some inserted homemade scenes of perhaps palpatine handing anakin a new lightsaber, and also obi wan taking his but at a separate location could solve this.

dare we ask ady to unbreak his nose then for empire and rotj?...... then again i guess its an indirect form of method acting.

does anyone know if there were any scenes filmed before the accident that chronologically appear later in the film?

this would be very contradictory to alot of star wars material, actually it would probably be contradictory to it all...but i could imagine a cool shot of anakins lightsaber turning from blue to red as after his transformation to sith, almost like red tendrils moving from the hilt downwards to form a red saber.

alternatively someone could just make a shot of palpatine handing anakin a new saber when he nights him, ie palpatines hands passing saber to anakins hands. could be done with just gloves and sleeves and the right coloured floor and lighting.

dunno where obi wan would get anakins old sabre from though, maybe a similar "hand" shot from the interior of padme's ship?

maybe ill suggest that to ady if he is still up for episode 3 rediscovered in 2018 ;)

not sure if this is the most appropriate thread, but it has always provided the most open minded discussion in the past.:P

what if anakin had a red lightsaber in the mustafar duel?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4puaVsdKUuk&feature=related

simply awesome what this guy did with the rotoscoping. i think it looks better.

i guess obi wan would have to take his old blue lightsaber at some other point though...
