Maybe TPM's finale could be arranged around Anakin taking out the droid controlship. Qui-Gon is dead, Amidala is captured, and the Gungans are dying on the battlefield. Another idea I had was having Qui-Gon's body disappear, after he dies. The explanation Jedi disappearing as given in ROTS felt forced, and never made much sense to me. If it's something a Jedi has to learn, how did Anakin manage to reappear as a ghost?

I have no trouble believing that a Jedi disappering after his death has something to do with his state of mind. Obi-Wan sacrificed himself, Yoda went prepared and peaceful to his death, as did Darth Vader. The same could be said for Qui-Gon. Jedi like Mace Windu and the Jedi who died in battle didn't disappear, because they couldn't "prepare" for the deaths.

Having Qui-Gon's body disappear would sidestep the problem of having a forced explanation in the final 5 minutes of ROTS.

An idea I had for for the Senate scenes in AOTC was to remove some of the lights of the Senate pods lined up against the wall. The crawl states that many systems have left the Republic, so the pods of the senators of those systems would be unused, and there wouldn't be any need to see those pods "activated". I think it would be a subtle way of showing just how much the Republic is falling apart, especially in contrast with TPM.

all of these ideas are awesome, i cant believe noone has thought of having quigon talk to anakin through the force yet! that would be especially awesome.

wow, vaderios moves into the world of the moving picture! i like the colour correction and removal of black bits. maybe the sequence could be used in an edit that involves flashbacks or filtered scenes. the tv series thread would be good mabye as it could be an episode in a style of its own?

would be interested in seeing it applied to what bingo is on about. id love to take a bunch of ninjas to the lucas film archives and liberate all their old footage! maybe they will release some for their blu-ray release (though unlikely)

there is a film where mark hamill has a beard, its a crap sci-fi, cant remember the name though, just that it was on a vhs in a charity shop. the beard could make him like obi-wan perhaps?

the only problem i have about all this boba fett surviving, or basically doing anything else except for dying or being completely absent is that it would just be really distracting to the plot, and wouldnt add anything to the film. if boba had a bigger role in ANH and ESB then it would be different, but in the context of the movies, he is just a cool looking plot item.

id just have him decapitated, or at the very most, replace the burping muppets frog from outside the palace with his ship taking off.

that youtube video was great davnes007. it got your ideas across really well. i still prefer SSWR briefing, as it left it on a more nervous edge, plus i would love to see the 'thanks for coming after me' from han to lando, but would still cut out some of the banter, like the 'would you get going you old pirate' to follow the tone. but it all depends on what tone you want.

for the rebel briefing, i was imagening that the commanders and crews from the hundreds of other ships would be listening in too perhpas, unless there were numerous other briefings going on at the same time. either way, it would be cool to see small holographic projections of alien captains and crew from other ships, maybe being projected around the room, and if possible, cutting briefly to other ships and seeing the briefing as a hologram.

i like the idea of the ghosts at the fire. only problem is that they are grinning quite a bit, so maybe the ghosts could be created from other clips of obi-wan/yoda and shaw (other films?)

it reminds me of the jedi knight game series, where you ultimatley choose between light and dark. annoyingly though it rarely changes much. if you are a light sider you save the <item of incredible power> from evil, or if a dark sider you decide to fight for the <item of incredible power>

so what kind of crappy alternatives could we have?

• luke chooses to join vader, but looses his footing and falls from the gantry anyway
• yoda cant decide what colour lightsaber to use in ROTS when beheading the clone troopers (green, blue or purple)
• does han shoot first?
• should boba fett bother going to jabbas party?
• should vader help luke? they will get blown up anyway so what the hell.
• does luke get the xwing out of the lake the first time?
• does yoda drop the x-wing on top of luke?
• should dooku turn to the darkside?
• what food does chewie want? animal or stormtrooper head?
• does the gunner on darth vader's stardestroyer shoot the escape pod that has no life signs?

if you are unsure about the celebration ending, could you have it end with the pyre, then when we pan up, there are no fireworks, but maybe just end there? if we pan to stars it would be like a reverse of the star wars opening.

are you going to attempt any of the ROTJ Fan-o-matic changes? the one with the bunker was very good.

or maybe Luke dies, and Vader survives. at endor he gives Leia Luke's sabre before he self immolates on a pyre with his son.

i can imagine the post revisited world will have many fan-edits based of adys versions. someone is already making another version picking their preferred bits from ANH:R and GOUT.

hmm, the difference between the Purist and non-Purist in my eyes was that the non purist was more sympathetic to the PT, ie music additions etc

Purist was an edition more geared towards people who only ever cared for the OT.
