Maybe Snoke did bridge their minds, which inadvertently solidified their bond and made them become a Dyad in the Force. So Snoke/Palpatine’s own machinations led to their undoing once again. I mean, we basically get that theme already since Palpatine indirectly made Rey by having a child of his own.

Yeah, it’s certainly messy and inconsistent. Just another day in the ST, heh.

I’d always just assumed that was Snoke lying through his crooked yellow teeth to further manipulate Kylo, as Sith(-adjacent) lords are wont to do. He’d seen into Kylo’s mind and discovered their bond, deciding to take credit for it to try and undermine/complicated their feelings for each other.

In my 3-in-1 edit of the sequel trilogy I rescored the two scenes in TRoS that opted against using music: the Pasaana confrontation, and the duel on the Death Star II.

For the Pasaana confrontation I used bits from The Cave (TLJ) and The Ways of the Force (TFA), and for the duel I used a cue from Luke and Vader’s fight in Return of the Jedi.

Thanks for in feedback folks. Looking back on the day shots I do think I’ll have to tone down the fiery artefacts and tone down the effect in the cave. Unfortunately I didn’t get passana or our first meeting with zorri template from kewlfish to see his settings but I’ll take another run at it and upload a test scene soon.

Like with a lot of things in Star Wars to varying extents (how fast lasers travel etc) I think you can probably put it down to what looks best in a given context.

Out of interest, did there ever exist a version of the purple lightsaber ending without the ghosts? Or did the lightsaber work get added on top of the existing ghost ending footage?

I think everyone’s pretty married to the DotF cue during the Death Star II fight at this stage, but I just wanted to post this for consideration anyway. A re-score from my edit that’s a bit more overt and uses the cue from Luke and Vader’s fight in RotJ, which feels pretty appropriate. The only difference in my edit from Ascendant is one shot of Finn and Jannah being cut and the following shot being cropped to only follow Kylo as he leaps after Rey. Let me know what you think! (Ignore the janky cut away from Maz as I’ve since removed this)
