A parsec is a measure of time, not distance

Uh, it's distance. Remember the famous "kessel run in less than 12 parsecs" being wrong because parsec is a distance measure?

Ignore that... I was being stupid at that particular moment

In any case, the Kessel Run boast is still correct because most pilots take the long route for the run, due to the danger of going straight through. Solo braved the danger and covered the run in a short amount of distance (think of it as a shortcut).

T3 was really just an attempt to milk more money out of the franchise. Cameron refused to do it because in his view, he had already completed the story. I agree with this, as T3 completely messes with the timeline and changes the theme of the first two, as noted above.

The only reason Arnold did it was because Cameron told him to ask for a "Shitload of money" (picked this up somewhere, don't know if it necessarily is true or not).

It's not a bad movie, it just seemed kind of unncessary.

EDIT: Found the actual quote... it's “If they come up with a decent script that you like and you think you can play, do something cool, and they pay you an awful lot of money, you should just go do it. Don’t feel like you’re betraying me or anything else.”

Urgh, no it has nothing to do with that, do you want me to go google hunting until I find another review that spells it out more clearly? It takes the non-anamorphic source and converts it to Anamorphic - it has nothing to do with being able to play progressive while in 4:3 mode. HERE YOU ARE, END OF DISCUSSION:

The RP91 is a solidly built player that produces a very nice progressive image. I really like its autoscale feature. It automatically scales 4:3, letterbox, anamorphic, and non-anamorphic movies to their correct aspect ratio. This feature really shines in effortlessly scaling and playing non-anamorphic movies as anamorphic! The RP91 is the only unit in this price range that is capable of doing this. (A fellow enthusiast however submits that his JVC XV-D723GD also has that capability.) This feature is especially critical to owners of sets that have no image size control or lock to "Full" mode when sent a 480p signal. This player also has a littany of menu options for video and audio which adds to its flexibility to meet user preferences. I may actually get one not only for its autoscale feature but also for its audio (DVD-A) capability.

Go on tell me I still don't know what I'm talking about.

You don't know what you're talking about. Happy?

Scaling and anamorphic video are not the same thing. Scaling is re-sizing a picture by interpolation to match a resolution irrespective of it's original resolution. For example, some TVs automatically lock into "Full" or "Stretch" mode when a progressive mode is output. This can be a problem if the image is not anamorphic, it will be stretched and have very thick black bars. Scaling simple stretches it vertically so it's not stretched.

I think you're being a bit harsh on T3 personally. For the fact that it didn't have Cameron, nor Hamilton I was fairly impressed with it. Definetly the worst of the series, but an above average movie with decent performances. Though some of the humor was a bit annoying.

T2 was one of those rare sequels that depending on your view surpassed the original (GF II and Aliens fall here too).

Indeed welcome to the forums. As a ritual you will now be allowed to insult Jimbo.

LOL

Though really, Jimbo seems to have calmed down for the most part. Let's hold the peace for now, ok? When we're all annoyed by the shreaking fanboys about why we haven't bought this "marvelous" DVD set, then the wars can continue. The set comes out next month guys; this is the calm before the storm.

Oh, I almost forgot. ELECTRIC ANT, welcome to our madness.

I'd have to agree on the Jimbo comment. He seems to be be much more mature than before. Give him a break for now.

Not that I know of. Star Wars isn't like other movies. It has gone through so much that even other greater films haven't gone through. When was the last time Coppola tried to add CG helicopters to Apocalypse Now? Even with his redux, the original is still available on DVD.
