It's... the Monty Python Thread
Time
The Ministry of Silly Walks was a classic, though it pissed of Cleese to have to do walks for people all the time in public

I love the double vision Mt. Kilimanjaro expedition one, as well as the buying the bed sketch where the man can't say mattress or the seller puts a bag over his head .

And of course who doesn't love the Lumberjack song? Especially in the lost German episode... haha!

What are the most underrated aspects of the SW films?

And in regards to the other comment, I still believe the SW films have not gotten their due. THey didn't win Best Picture, Empire didn't make the AFI list or even get nominated. Nobody in Hollywood has ever ranked SW and Empire as highly as, say, Gone With the Wind or even the Wizard of Oz and I think they should be.

I didn't say I didn't like the lines, I said the dialogue was wooden. Have you ever sat down and actually listened to all that they're saying... "Good, our first catch of the day" e.g. Granted, not all of it is as bad as this, but some of the stuff is still cringe worthy.

I never felt that the Star Wars pictures were best picture worthy, then again, I don't feel like the academy makes a lot of good decisions. In any case, Star Wars was indeed nominated for Best Picture, but Annie Hall won over that and I would have to agree with that, as I think that Annie Hall is a better film, all popularity aside. Empire was not nominated, but I would definetely have to go with Raging Bull (nominated, but didn't win) over it.

Empire may not have been on AFI's list either, but only one sequel managed to make it on (Godfather II). I think they were trying to put on as many films as possible and not catering to film series' by putting every film in the series on even if they deserved it. Much like ROTK's Oscar sweep, having Star Wars on the list is in place of the entire trilogy, not just the first one.

'Inexperienced'? Oh, do you mean 'critically acclaimed'? Actually, since Natalie Portman had both sci-fi and action film experience before playing Amidala, I think you must be thinking of a different teen actress and movie, my guess is Carrie Fisher in ANH.

Yeah, really... have you ever seen Leon (aka The Professional... I don't know what the damn thing is called anymore)? She was about 10 or and did an awesome job.

The dialogue is actually pretty damn wooden. That's not really a bad thing, its just how it is.

And I don't really understand what you mean when you say that people underestimate how good the trilogy is... it came in on #15 on AFI's list. And where did you come up with those two random films? Annie Hall is considered one of the greatest comedies ever made, and Ordinary People has sort of faded out of sight. Annie Hall is behind Star Wars on AFI's list (31), and Ordinary People isn't on it. I'm kind of confused .

Personally, I didn't really find his 70s concept for the prequels all that interesting. I mean, he could barely tell about how Vader came about in three movies, I can't see him doing it in just one. And I think that focusing each on just one topic would be pretty boring.

One thing that you simply nailed (as well as many other people) was his lack of another writer, as well as following their suggestions. If only the other prequels could have been like Episode III - despite its own flaws.

This sound familiar to anyone?

I was just reading this today and I just thought it was funny... where do you recognize this from?

"Scarlet, you do like me, don't you?"

"Well, sometimes. When you're not acting like a varmit."

"I think you like me because I am a varmit. You've known so few dyed-in-the-wool varmits in your sheltered life that my very difference holds a quaint charm for you."

"That's not true! I like nice men."

Any guesses?
