Meaning, I think, that there's no one to challenge Lucas in his ideas, like Gary Kurtz did. So we end up with Jar Jar Binks. So you have a LFL populated by sycophants instead of a collaborative effort to create movie art.
It's very very disappointing to see an establishment like LFL turn on its early fans (who made them successful) and become a despised company.
But I still admire and love the original artists, model makers, technicians, etc. who made those early movies possible.

Blade Runner is THE benchmark for how to do a home video collector's edition properly.
Using KMPlayer, increasing the Saturation to 120% and the Contrast to 104% seems to improve it for me. I will have to try the hue settings next to tone down the red faces.

The way things have been going at the movies, it wouldn't surprise me if Hollywood decided to do just that... But while GL is still around it will never happen.

I don't know. I stopped watching DVD extras years ago, and I see why the studios would be doing it. But I agree that if you're interested in that stuff you should be able to watch it on a rental.

Seems to me those two contributed quite a lot more to the script than is often mentioned. George just can't write dialogue as good as that attributed to Katz and Huyck (and probably there are many other examples in Star Wars not credited to them).

Yep, in the SE... But I was thinking more like if those were the only changes, not all the extra scenes, CGI, etc. Minor corrections. Like the visible gas tank in Gladiator; they could erase that.

The only thing I wouldn't mind LFL correcting would be the garbage mattes. It doesn't bother me that they exist, but if there has to be any corrections, those would be the only ones. And the missing rotoscope on Vader's lightsaber in <i>Star Wars</i>. But just those things.

Although this bit:
