Holy Frak the Beatles split up!

I should have probably assumed it's a well-known review around these parts, but it's new to me! :)
It really highlighted the difficulty Adywan is going to have trying to salvage a good story from the prequels. The section where fans try to describe the characters in TPM was particularly embarrassing.
I know this is the wrong thread for it, but I want to make sure Adywan has plenty of time to let this review sink in before he starts The Phantom Menace Revisited. It's so brilliant, funny, and truly insightful.

No, sorry you are mistaken. That's actually one shot that wasn't touched in the SE
Looking at the matte painting done for revisited I feel sorry you declined my proposal for a couple of matte, mate (because of my "old" technics if I remember...
Not a critiscism of what have been done though, only I just had a flash at the moment I checked the pictures in your post, seeing the "ideal" background that would have given this plan such a depht as Luke would have looked more lost again into the set, with a simple and effective architectural/perspective effect.
Oh well... just sharing a thought. Perhaps I forgot to mention it is more or less my real job, I don't think I did. ;)
I know many here would love to see a mock-up of how you would do the shot. We're easily enthralled by a good mock-up! :)

As I recall, the main reason Ady chose not to go 1080 is because source material for some new elements is largely SD and would look terrible against 1080 ESB footage, not because it would choke his computer...
This is true also. Both reasons factored into ady's decision. The man does not make any decision lightly! :)

Thanks guys:)
Things took a turn for the worse and the doctors have moved her to a private room and told us that there is nothing more they can do for her. She's being pumped full of morphine and is slipping away fast. I'm just preying for a miracle. So i'm sitting here with a bottle of southern comfort getting totally hammered. Sorry if i don't rely to anyone's questions or suggestions for a while
Drinking is no way to deal with it.
He's not dealing with it with alcohol. He's getting hammered to blow off steam. Give the guy a break.
My heart goes out to you, adywan. I pray that you find both strength and comfort in the times ahead.

Vaderios.....after years, I just realized that the picture in your signature is "Vader's" mask closing in on Anakin. I always thought it was some strange bird wing thing and I never paid that much attention to it. Useless info I know, but I had a good idiot laugh. Peace....and as always, hang in there Ady!!
HAHA, I thought the same thing for a long time!
Can we get this guy for Revisited? Best CG I've ever seen. (Everything in the video is computer generated.)
double post. sorry.

Isn't that like buying scenes?
No, it's a special thank you to those that donate. I didn't donate to get the clip, I donated because I had some extra money on hand and really appreciate adywan's work.

Sorry if I snapped a bit, but bad grammar tends to irk me.
Keep in mind that English is not the first language of everyone on the internet. :)

Im not sure about indiana jones but my mockups are ESB:R related.
-Angel
PS: Thanks sky_
Angel, I love your work and look forward to your posts almost as much as ady's, but the radio poster has nothing to do with ESB:R. It's "related" to it, but it's not going in the fanedit or mocking-up a screenshot for a possible change.
I'm not trying to start an argument, but it is frustrating waiting for a page to load because of several images that have nothing specifically to do with ady's edit. That's all I'm saying.
Ady, my thoughts and prayers go out to your mother, and you have the support of all of your fans. Take the time you need to get your life in order and don't worry about those people who are more concerned about how soon you're going to release your fanedit.
On another note: Why do people post so much stuff in this thread that has NOTHING to do with ESB:R? I'm sorry, but I don't come here to see Indiana Jones posters and DVD cover mockups. I come here to read about changes to ESB, like 90% of the other people here. If you have to say "I know this doesn't belong here" or something, then don't post it here.
Sometimes I read this thread on my phone, and it took five minutes for the last page to load because of Angel's radio poster, which a couple people even quoted, making the page take even longer to load. It's nice-looking, but it has nothing to do with ESB:R.

Also, the Executor is a different type of ship than the ISDs. Who says it needs to look the same in profile or whatever? The main point is to see how massive it is in relation to the other ships. They're using a physical model, so why would it be "wrong"?
They Forced 2 different perspectives into one shot. The model is just fine. But from that angle only the artistic liberation/license defines the "correct"
-Angel
Kurgan is right. There is no up/down north/south in space. Why couldn't the Executor be at a 30-degree angle compared to the SD's? They're not floating on an ocean, they're in space.
I can tell I'm going to enjoy this thread.

It was always a favourite effects element in the OT for me
Me too. Sad to hear it will be gone.
From what I remember, Ady has said he plans to add some subtle animation to the screens, but nothing too obvious.
vaderios said:
Ady: something you may want to keep in mind with this scene: the light source seems to be on the far right, going by the lighting and shadows on the Executor and its escort. If that is the case, the underside of Needa's SD should be pretty dark, as opposed to brightly lit, which would suggest a light source underneath.
Let me think about it....
Very quick try this:
-Angel
I like all your mock-ups, Angel, but this shot here will particularly disappoint me if Adywan doesn't take the same approach. The dark underside with the small lights from windows, and the lit docking bay enhance the mood perfectly. It makes it look less like a model, and more like a giant vessel.
Love it.

What the hell was he talking about Superman and Batman driving his car?? That is possibly the weirdest tangent I've ever heard someone take.

And what have you contributed other than your recent rudeness?
oh_riginal said:ImperialFighter said:Oh, and that was a neat little clip, oh_riginal. I personally loved that subtle difference in movement, and hope Ady decides to do it too.
I like how it turned out. Better than I was hoping for, actually! The best part is that IG-88's head only turns slightly, so no matter what, the difference was always going to be subtle, which I preferred anyhow. That way the effect doesn't attract too much attention to itself, while still giving IG-88 a little bit more life (at least in my opinion.)
Agreed! I really love how it turned out. I would expect adywan to do something just like this.
Wow, what a waste of a page that argument was. I really couldn't care less about you guys critiquing each other's Photoshops in Adywan's thread. Take it to private messages or start your own thread. It's disrespectful and pretty self-centered.
Adywan, now that you're in your model-building phase, I thought I'd just drop this here since it gave me both a chuckle and a tear.
Very classy Asteroid-Man! I love the stark minimalism of it. Every element has its place and nothing feels extraneous. Well done!!
The only change I would make is to put Luke above the title instead of Obi-Wan. It is Luke's story afterall, and with Vader and Kenobi at the bottom, you have the three most important characters in the film on the cover.
