To be fair, it is taking a long time. Sorry 'bout that.

How could it not take a long time? I watched the videos on x0project.com. I have trouble finding the time to organize my CD collection outside of work and family obligations.

Incidentally, what's the deal with your sig? Are there really fan edit haters out there?

Thanks Sluggo!

Even though I'm only a casual fan of the Original Trilogy (I'm an anti-fan of the prequels, but I won't even approach that subject!), the whole concept of fan edits fascinates me. I've been reading through a lot of these threads, and it's making me more and more excited to see one of the incredible projects for myself. I just think it says a lot about Star Wars, and modern filmmaking that there is a community of people working hard, and for free, to preserve a classic film with its classic effects.

How can anyone knock or criticize what's going on here? Unlike the ka-ching ka-ching that drives most restoration projects, this is being done for the love. That's important. I feel lucky to have found this place! Ok, sorry for the OT post! Just wanted to bring the praise for a minute.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled awesomeness.

I tried submitting this to the Contact Us form on the XØ Project site, but it wouldn't accept it!

I don't normally do this sort of thing, but I am so wowed by this, I just had to take a moment to say thank you and give you an e-pat on the back.

I just recently discovered this whole 'fan edit' community for Star Wars while I was looking for the perfect Star Wars related birthday present for my uncle (who is a Star Wars addict). I think it's incredible. It is an astounding example of how media and entertainment should belong to the audience as much as they do the creator. Projects like these are not undertaken for money, they are undertaken for love of the craft, for the love of a good film, for the love of fans who deserve a flawless copy of these movies. For that reason alone, I feel you guys deserve all the accolades in the world. It's incredible to see such initiative and passion for your work. If only those who were employed by LFL had as much appreciation for the fans, and love of the movies, as you guys do.

Keep up the great work, and I can only hope I can figure out how to get one of your incredible sets once they become available!

Regards,
Brent
