Keeping with the military theme:
Waging Star Wars

Or how about simply:
Making Star Wars

Or:
The Incredibly Strange Movie That Started A Cult Phenomenon And Became Crazy Mixed-Up Star Wars
Deleted Magic II: Electric Boogaloo

Just kidding with the last one - I'm sure it will be a very different creature than Deleted Magic. Your styles are totally (thankfully) different.

Help Wanted: uploading the Wookie Groomer Split-Screen on Google Video?

I would like to try and upload Wookie Groomer's Split-Screen Comparisons on Google Video. I don't care if they get deleted or not, I'd just like to try it out. But here's the problem: The DVD ripper I use (Ahead DVD Ripper) cuts off in the middle of the movie and then goes badly out-of-sync, and there's no way I can fix it.

What's the best DVD ripper I can use to rip the videos without a problem?

Welcome back, ZigFried! Glad to see you again. This would be a neat project. I've not done any ripping like what you are talking about, but I wanted to express enthusiasm for your project as my Wookie Groomer ANH is corrupt. I would love to be able to reference the movie.

Beginning Star Wars

- it's the beginning of the saga
- it's about beginning the work on this movie, as well as the whole series
- it's about the beginning of a new era in movie making
- it's about the beginning of a huge undertaking
- it's reference to the beginning of your work on the first film in the OT
- it matches your other titles (action verb followed by reference to title)

Help Needed - Four Minutes Of Video, Cropped, Coverted To Anamorphic
Time
I am very bad at using AVS scripting, and I don't have access to expensive programs, so I was wondering if someone could do some work on two .m2v files for me - they total around four minutes long all together. I really need the video converted from letterbox to anamorphic, and then cropped to the "standard" Star Wars widescreen aspect ratio.

Is there anyone out there who can help me with this? Thanks in advance!

DVD Decryptor + Womble DVD Video Wizard = bad audio?

Because you didn't click the correct radio button. You have probably clicked on demux when you selected the video stream, but when you've chosen the audio stream, you've left the radio button on "direct stream copy".

Yep - you're right. Thanks for the heads up!

Do you use dvddecrypter to demultiplex the vobs (stream processing)?

I tried demultiplexing directly from dvd with dvddecrypter but I sometimes got header errors or something with the ac3 files (I can't remeber exactly, it was a long time ago). So now I always rip the vobs to my hdd and demultiplex them using vobedit. Works like a charm, never had an error.

VOBEdit sounds like a great program. You've helped me out once again, Arnie. Thanks for the quick response!

It's amazing how great some of this freeware is. You get a program that isn't even a MB in size, and it can manipulate huge files for great results.

DVD Decryptor + Womble DVD Video Wizard = bad audio?

Can anyone help me out and tell me if I'm doing something wrong here?

I'm working on an editing project, and I am using DVD Decryptor to extract my audio/video components. When I put the .vob audio files into Womble for editing, I get really weird results.

In one instance, the video and audio for a segment have equal lengths on the time table, but as I click to different parts of the audio (to make sure they match up), they go terribly out of sync, by several minutes even.

In another instance, I took a complete .m2v movie and aligned it with a complete .vob sound track and again, as I click around on the time table this time, it also goes out of sync. After a certain point, the sound just buzzes horribly.

Is there a step to this process that I am missing, or just not performing properly? Is there a better (free) way to rip .ac3 files than using DVD Decryptor? Any help would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I am following ADigitalMan's guide by the way. I was rereading it here at work (I can't access my files right now). It seems to imply that I should demux the video in one run, and then the audio track in a separate one. Is that possibly what is giving me problems - doing both at once?
