Hahaha... Considering all the props and FXs you can render and rig. Couldn't you make it seems like that their flat is haunted? That Wampa you're building could be a blood thirsty creature from hell after you get your shots! ;)

Trust me, i've been so tempted to do something like that. Drive the buggers out

This is one thing that really pisses me off about what is called art nowadays. So some guy can stick the original trilogy in an editing program, do the most simple split screen effect and this is called art? And as bkev correctly pointed out its just an idea ripped off from Wookiegroomers Addicted to Star Wars. And the description is the biggest pile of bullshit nonsense i've seen. No talent whatsoever involved in this.

well the one good thing about all the work going on here is the noise levels and that it's really pissing off the people upstairs. After all the crap they have put me though since they moved in with their constant 48 hours parties at the weekends its good that they are being woken up at 8am by very loud power tools. Payback is a bitch. lol

Please tell me you are not using XVID/ DIVX as your source file to edit with. Vegas has many problems with using these codecs and screws the field orders up causing blended fields and other video anomalies, plus the compression problems with video noise etc would really put a dampener on all your hard work. I noticed in your trailer there were some really bad blended field problems which were very noticeable during the saber fights. I thought it was just down to youtube or something but now you have said what codec you are using is all became clear. Did you remove the 2:3 pulldown when ripping with DVD Fab?. You really need to do this first because Vegas can be very picky with removing the pulldown. And is your project set to 23.976fps or 29 fps?

You would have been better ripping the DVDs to a m2v file with DVDDecrypter in stream mode and this way you are using the original files for your edit with no further compression. If vegas plays up with importing the m2v file just remux it to a mpeg2 container minus the audio first. If the files you imported into your vegas project were the direct rips from the dvds in xvid format then just re-rip them as mpegs and replace each movie file in your project with the mepg versions.

Vegas is pretty hit and miss when it comes to importing XVIDS. this thread may be of some help to you

I always use lossless avi using the lagarith codec, but vegas supports many formats but doesn't like xvids, but that doesn't bother me because using DIVX/ XVID for editing purposes is the wrong way to go anyway.

god, my poor old kitchen

I've got no room to move in the house at the moment. The cooker is stored in my front room along with all the boxes of packed up stuff so there's about 4ft x 5ft of available floor space. A bit of a tight squeeze. What's really pissed me off is that i packed my pc and everything away and dismantled my workstation and now they have said they won't be rewiring the front room until friday. I'll be glad when this is all over and i can have my flat back

But on the other hand why are you colour correcting at all then? I'd say the "pink" is part of the expresssion of the film as much as the blue tint is of the scene.

Because it never originally had a pink tint.  It didn't have a pink tint in the cinemas, it didn't have a pink tint in the broadcast theatrical version but suddenly got a pink tint for the DVD. Colouring problems due to the transfer. And here is the proof

As you can see, the redemption version is a lot closer to the original colouring of TPM. Every single DVD version of the whole saga has colour problems and does not represent the original colouring of the movies.

Timstuff, your colour correction is coming along nicely. I think you need to be somewhere between yours and BmB's as his too much of a brown/yellow tint to it. I know what a complete pain correcting this , and the other star wars movies can be. I can see straight away the problem you are having. It's the cyans because i had the same problem. It's a bi-product of removing the pink tint. In after effects, create a new composition and drag your colour corrected composition into the new one. Then to your composition layer add "effect>colourcorrection>hue/saturation". go to your effects control panel and in the hue/saturation effect select "cyan" in the "channel control" section. now in your colour bar drag the right side triangle a bit more into the green area (you will need to do a bit of trial and error here with how much of the green section you need to add when adjusting this next section). Now adjust the hue wheel towards + until the green tint is gone and it give a more neutral colour (towards blue). Again trial and error here. You can also adjust the saturation of each colour too. Very handy to adjust the reds when colour correcting because skin tones can become a little oversaturated. Just play with the filter with each colour to see how it affects the picture.

Hope this helps :)

What looks "wrong" IMO is the fact that the two cloud-cars actually have orders to guard the Falcon. If you guard a suspect you don't want to have him in your back and walk in front or beside him. If you guard a suspect you walk behind the guarded suspect in its blind spot. As I recall the cloud-cars already have fired a warning shot so they are guarding an unfriendly vessel.

Adywan's scene actually looks like a parade formation, like they are protecting a Falcon they are trusting because one of the cloud-cars turns its back on the Falcon (perhaps leading it to Cloud City). It looks "wrong" to me because it seems like the Falcon is totally controlling the situation. I mean: One shot of the Falcon could blast the leading cloud-car out of the beautiful sky and one turn to the right would crash the second cloud-car to the ground.
In military terms - and perhaps in terms of directing - the Falcon is totally dominating the scene, the cloud-cars could be destroyed easily by the Falcon. It should be a 50:50-situation at least.

i can't see a problem with that scene at all. the pod cars approach the Falcon and fire a warning shot because they didn't have clearance. they were placed either side of the falcon at this point. then they say that they have permission to land on platform 327 and move in front of the falcon.this becomes and escort formation, leading the Falcon to the platform. when you have a police escort(none criminal)  the car is always in front not surrounding the vehicle. the cars are just leading the falcon to its destination. They have been granted permission to land so there is no need for a hostile flying formation.

well, i'm about to pack up the pc for a couple of weeks ready for the workmen to come tomorrow. Can you hear me sobbing? lol. but i'll see if i can nick the wifes laptop and get a small internet fix. ;)

...right?

How do we know that it isn't just robotic tendons.

Actually, I think he is talking about his fleshy arm, which shows a little right below the green area you marked.  It is between the gold forearm and the actual shoulder, under the 3 metal "tendons".

Actually its the top of 3P0's golden arm we see there, as Angel noted earlier. Anthony Daniels wore along sleeved  black body suit so you wouldn't see any flesh under his armpit

Are you going to be there the whole time they're working?  Because electricians rewiring an apartment is the PERFECT cover for ILM goons to steal all of your stuff! ;-)

But seriously, is it like a fire hazard or something?  I've never heard of anything on this scale happening to somewhere while someone is living there.

Good luck Ady, is the council putting you up somewhere while the works being done?

Yeh, i don't really want to leave a load of workmen in my flat on their own. I just don't trust them, never have. But they won't put anyone up in another place while they are doing it.  It's all thanks to the bloody EU directives and the health and safety regulations they imposed to council & housing association properties. Because the wiring is over 30 years old all the houses around here are having to be rewired.

Ripplin said:

I guess this is good and bad news, then. I hope they give you a decent amount of money to make repairs and whatnot afterwards.

I've been told today that it's likely to be around a £50 grant at the most depending upon how many rooms they have to channel into the walls for the wiring. So f**k all really.

I note Ady you are also a Doctor Who fan so it would be a great chance to catch up on some Big Finish audios before the new series starts.

I've got tonnes of them loaded up on my prehistoric iRiver for just that sort of emergency (like when Scottish Water put an axe through a water main and only spotted the error after it had flooded the electrical substation down the hill, it was candles and time travel under a duvet for a few days and a mad rush to eat all the ice-cream before it melted).

I'm not a big fan of the Big Finish audios or audio books/ plays in general. I'm more of a visual person. I think that the only audio dramas i've ever been able to listen to all the way through are the Star Wars radio plays, which i've listened to countless times.  Can't wait for the new series of Doctor Who to start on April 3rd. And I've got the Star Wars concert the day before so a good Easter weekend for me :)

Adywan, would it be possible to 'blacken out' the little bit of Anthony Daniel's arm that shows through his C3PO costume during the shot where he says "If I may say so Sir, I noticed earlier the hyperdrive motivator has been damaged.  It's impossible to go to lightspeed." -

ImperialFighter, i have looked at the shot you mentioned and cannot see any of Anthony Daniels arm showing. can you point to the section you mean?

EDIT: yeh, i've noticed the bullets missing but adding them would be very difficult to do

Great work on the list ImperialFighter :) I need to go through the main page here and update the list at some point, but i'll probably leave that until the edit is almost complete.

A little update: I've just finished making the Hoth backpack coverings.

I just need to add the press studs to the flaps then dirty them up a bit.

Now i'm probably going to be offline for about 10 days from the end of this weekend. The bloody council want to rewire the flat and i've got to dismantle my workstation and everything else so they can redo the wiring. I've got to pack everything away so nothing gets damaged when they are working here. They're also ripping out my kitchen and  fitting a new one, so no electric or being able to cook anything for around 10 days. Then once they're done i've got to redecorate the whole place because they are ripping the walls apart to get to the wiring. Not looking forward to it but at least they have said that we will get a redecorating grant, but knowing the council it will be about enough to cover costs of a pot of paint. Luckily i kept most of the wallpaper used in the house so i can patch most of it up afterwards.

No TV, no PC, no Internet & not being able to build anything for 10 days. How the bloody hell am i going to survive? lol

Now would be the time for someone with a PAL formatted VHS player to snag this sucker up and get it ripped.  I know I would love to see it!

Isnt this version the one that came out with the pal limited edition metal box set around the mid 90's ?.

yes it is. Luckily i managed to get the executor tin box set when they came out. I'm pretty sure this is on the Rowman bonus discs

The perspectives are ok :) Its the shape of the building that makes that look awkward.

I was sure it could cause some weird feelings..

If you see this from architecture pov the building makes no sense at all :P

Remember im from an other school from ady..

Besides ady already confirmed that this error is fixed already.. :)

I haven't confirmed anything about changing that building. The only thing i have changed is the colouring of the building seen between shots to fix an error. I don't see a problem with the shape of the building at all
