Aalenfae's PREQUEL TRILOGY (Heavily delayed - computer exploded)
Time

Yeah, I think it has a lot of potential. A near-flawless idea to preserve continuity AND make her death more believable.

1. Good point. It'd be nice to hear this in the dialogue. Maybe I can mess with Bail's lines a little bit (or find somebody who can do a good imitation)

2. I think it's just the costume design, and the pillow she's against. It just seems... out of place, I guess. Maybe too medieval. Some background replacement would do a great deal of good for it, but that costume is just a tad too frilly.

3. Perhaps her injuries at the hands of Anakin could have something to do with it. Might explain things a little.

I would say contrived and clever ;)
But that's a simply genius idea nonetheless! I've always been a fan of motifs like this, actually. The hopeless fate/destiny kind of thing.

It only raises a few problems, though.

-Why would she go to Alderaan? There would need to be new dialogue added to explain why they choose Alderaan, especially if Bail isn't adopting Leia.

-I'm not a fan of the look of the shot that The Cutter used.

-Disease would seem random coming from nowhere. It would need to be hinted at earlier.

I just want to see a FEW added ships. Just a few different ships will communicate a slightly larger/more diverse fleet.

I mainly want to see:

Oh, and a few of these, too :)

I'm not saying either, really.
I'm just saying there's not enough variety. What about the Wookiees, the Bothans, the Sullustans, and all the other corporations that supported the Rebellion?
We really only see a very small portion of the Rebel Alliance in RotJ, as only a fraction of their members and supporters are seen.

^ This article has a concise list of different ships employed by the Alliance.

But that's alright, absolutely. But it's unrealistic that they get ALL their ships (and enough to be a threat) from the same people. Especially capital ships, which they apparently only have a dozen or so - barely enough to compete with legions of Star Destroyers.

What I'm saying is that yes, it makes perfect sense that sympathetic corporations would fund the Rebellion. However, it would make sense that they have a greater variety of ships due to the nature of the group - which is a conglomeration of many different small factions.

It would be like five different militaries banding together, but deciding to only use one type of plane while they could use ALL of their different kinds and brands of planes instead.

The main problem with the Rebels is that the movies make it seem that the Rebels made their own ships. Like when they started, they made a whole bunch of X-Wings, a whole bunch of Y-Wings, a whole bunch of those clamshell transports and a few Corvettes. But it really wouldn't be that way. Showing a conglomeration of ships would just make the rebels seem more realistic. They're not like one big military faction. They're pieced together by many different races and planets, so their fleet should reflect that.

Speaking of your AotC edit, how's that coming? You haven't abandoned it, have you?

I feel bad replying to such a long, heartfelt post with a short one, but rest assured that I share your sympathies.
I would love to see some radically different prequels - with recast characters and redone effects, but I feel that we will never quite get what we desire. Adywan has expressed interest in doing some massive overhauls with his Prequels, but I'm not sure even he can pull some of it off.

In the end, the Prequels ARE Star Wars, and I love them. Not in the "these are so great!" sense, but in the sense that a parent still loves their children, even when they misbehave.
And that's why I work on the Prequels. Not because I hate them, but because I love them and want to see them the best they can be.

@darth_ender
It's definitely alright. I am very excited to be on-board for RotJ!
But I will still be working on RotS. It will just take me longer to get it done. But don't worry. I finish what I start.

@brash_stryker
You don't know how much I feel your pain, haha!
There are many things I would love to change... but as you mentioned, there wouldn't be much of a movie left! I've already cut over 45 minutes! (Some of which I am going to have to add back in. It's just too short now)

Maybe we can put it to a vote! Haha
Does anybody have Ralph Brown's phone number? :) Maybe he'd like to come in and shoot a short cockpit scene.

My respect for Ric Olie has risen dramatically after watching him save the day countless times in The Ridiculous Menace.
Seriously, what would the heroes do if Ric Olie wasn't there to tell them what just happened?

But as for the N1, yeah, it could stand to be less shiny. I did tone the chrome down significantly, but I didn't have the heart to take it out altogether.
If I had a better renderer, I'd try to make the chrome faded, smudgy, and rusted. But it'll just look fake if I try.

Well, I have much to learn.
Must have just downloaded an unlucky one, haha.

Alright, I downloaded the N1 Starfighter from Sci-Fi 3D and re-textured it.
I also remodeled the engines to make them more run-down, removed some panels on the top, and added internal greeblies.
Thoughts? Should we have the N1 make an appearance?

As far as I know, the fighters are not rigged to be animated. I downloaded an X-Wing once, and there was no file with rigging for animation. It wouldn't be hard to do, though.

Concerning Home One, wouldn't it, though? Like in the movie, we see it fairly close to the fighting, like when Admiral Ackbar tells them to concentrate their fire on the Super Star Destroyer.

As far as the carbon freezing chamber is concerned, I think both views are correct. Some of the shapes are definitely walkways, but others may actually be the "web" shape that others are seeing. Some of the art clearly supports the "web" structure, while some of the art and on-set cues indicate walkways.

And I'm a fan of Jaitea's mockup there! That wouldn't be harder than some simple motion tracking.
I have a hard time thinking Ady's not already gone and done this, though. Especially something so noticeable and not hard to fix.
