Looks like severed Anakin is also making his appearance in RO

Maybe the guy in the bacta tank actually is Darth Vader then.

It seems weird that Vader would be wounded during the events of the movie though, considering how unlikely it is that Vader needed a period of recovery between RO and ANH. However he might be introduced in the tank (implying some previous battle), or perhaps he is simply put in the tank regularly to heal.

They’re all perfectly edible.
Just regular gingerbread held together by a very basic form of knäck. Though the latter would be somewhat hard to bite through. (But the cookies will definetely be eaten at some point.)

OK, that’s cool.

I’m from Denmark where gingerbread translate(Google) to Honningkage(Dark, soft cake), and the pictures looked more like Brunkage(Hard, dark, spicy cookie), thinking this is more appropriate for recreating your designs.

(EDIT: I realize now that by “brunkage” you were referring to pepperkake/ginger-nut. So never mind the first few sentences that I wrote. My advice on knäck still counts though if you haven’t already used it before.)

Hmm, I googled gingebread and I might have had it translated wrong. I’m from Norway and I used pepperkake which apparently translates to ginger nut. This might work for the cookies, but not the starfighters. However, on a side note, the knäck I linked to earlier is a little bit different from what I used. I simply melted sugar in a pan and used it as a glue to put the pieces together. It stiffens really fast and sticks things together really well. I also would not recommend anyone using knäck on their own. It can burn you really* bad if you get it on your hands. I had help while assembling mine.
(You can also use melted caramels, but the trade-off for making them easier to eat is that any assembled parts that stick out will slowly start to droop down in room temperature, like f. ex. the wings on the X-Wing.)

If you want to know anything else about how I made them, just ask.
(Do you have a plan for how to build/design them? I’m curious, because although the Tie was pretty easy to make, the Y-Wing was quite complex. I needed more pieces for it than the Tie and the X-Wing combined.)

When you’ve made yours I’d love to see some pictures.

Well, sure, there’s always been Christmas-related SW merchandise (I guess any franchise that relies on selling toys must have at least a decent amount of Christmas marketing), but it’s never been quite as blatantly a Christmas thing as it is now and will be in the coming years. All the other movies were released in either May or June, so the movies themselves was never tied to Christmas in the same way.

(Also I got an excuse to post a picture of my SW gingerbread starfighters. Which btw was far more complicated to make than you’d imagine.)

The Star Wars Christmas thread
Time

A lot of people here have poked fun at how Star Wars has now turned into a a part of Christmas with the release of a new film every December in the coming years, so I figured I’d make a thread where you can post any SW and Christmas-related items that you’ve purchased or (in my case) made recently. Or anything else SW and Christmas related that you want to share for that matter.

I have a feeling that these two things are going to be combined in all kinds of “creative” ways in the next few years (and of course there’s plenty of weird stuff from the past to pick from too.)

I’m personally not the kind of person who must have Christmas decorations and that sort of thing, but since my family usually makes gingerbread houses, figures, etc. each year, I felt it would be fun to try to add some SW into the mix this year. (I haven’t had time to decorate them yet, though.)

(I made the templates for the starfighters on the top row myself, but the bottom ones are made of cookie-cutters that I bought on eBay.)

According to various tweets like these, George Lucas likes Rogue One. I wonder if he actually likes Rogue One, or if he only passive-aggresively said that he likes it (like he kinda did with TFA).

Well, RO being an anthology film might actually be much easier for Lucas to like as it’s not someone else’s interpretation of a saga film which he had his own ideas/plans for. So he might actually have genuinely liked RO.

That was so good I wish I hadn’t seen it. The bit at the end will be a guaranteed laugh at every viewing I go to.

The only “problem” I have with the clip is that it seems Jyn is a pretty capable combatant which means the premature Mary Sue claims will pop up again.

I made the foolish decision to look at the Youtube comments.

They already have, criticizing the fact that her comrade’s (If there’s one thing I’m bad at, it’s names) just staring while she kicks butt and how that’s a sign that feminism’s gone too far or something.

I honestly expected more.
These things are almost like memes. Eventually people will get bored off it and go and complain about something else silly. And when dealing with a franchise as big as SW there’s always going to be some overly paranoid and/or nitpicky thing for people to nag about. (I’m already dreading the reactions to the Han Solo film.)

At the end of Felicity Jones’ interview with Jimmy Fallon tonight they played what I’m fairly certain is the first clip we’ve seen of the movie. It’s from the shootout with the stormtroopers in the Mos Eisleyesque location. Giacchino’s music is very recognizable. My brain lit up with excitement.

I’m sure it’ll be up online soon if it isn’t already.

ETA: Here it is:

I love how that one stormtrooper is just resting on that bench.

I don’t really know what fucking thread to put this in but I do NOT want the crew in Rogue One to become the Knights of Ren. The thought repulses me almost as much as Reylo.

WHAT? this is the first i heard of this. and i don’t think the timelines quite work out.

If you want to see the “evidence” here you go

and it was a thing WAY before this.

I’d take any SW theory that MatPat makes-up/promotes with a very large grain of salt. He was, after all, quite convinced last year that Luke would be a darksider in TFA (even implying that he was Kylo Ren).

Also wouldn’t this mean that every member of the Knights of Ren except for Kylo are in their 60’s or 70’s. It’s kinda funny how he dismisses one theory due to age, then suggests that they’ll all show up 35 years later as the Knights of Ren.

(I’m also getting a Nazgûl vibe from this theory.)

Best (and worst) lightsaber design?

I’d say that the lightwhip was one of the weirdest and most impractical lightsaber designs that ever existed in any canon (if it even counts).

I could see something like that making more sense if it behaved somewhat different physically from a lightsaber, ie, a plasma-whip which deals immense damage but doesn’t cut through metal like butter.

Didn’t Lumiya’s lightwhip from the 80’s Marvel comics kinda work like that?

Pretty much. It wasn’t even a pure lightwhip, so to speak; it had metal cords with energy ribbons generated around them.

Right.

Now that actually makes a lot of sense to me. (At least as far as SW weapons go.) It’s actually a pretty cool idea. And it sure as he’ll makes a lot more sense than helicopter lightsabers.

I don’t mind the idea if a plasma-whip, but the weapon shown above is essentially just a floppy lightsaber (and yes, I realize that sounds ridiculous), which seems really dangerous and impractical.

Either Tognaths have very deep set eyes, or Edrio and his brother have some form of cybernetic eyes.

I’m also liking this alien design more and more every time I see a new photo;

I’m really hoping that Edwards will put the practical creatures more in the foreground than what Abrams did in TFA, and judging from the trailers it seems that he will.

New TV spot with a possible brief appearance of Tarkin; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBNc7Pz35OA

(EDIT: seems like Ronster beat me to it.)

(I also think it’s interesting how different in tone these TV spots are. Some here have expressed worry that RO might end up being too lighthearted, yet this new trailer has a much more dark/dramatic tone to it. Hopefully the actual film will find a good balance between these two.)

Best (and worst) lightsaber colour?
Time

I actually really like Yellow as a lightsaber colour. The colour just makes a lot of sense to me when dealing with a Lightsaber.

Then again it could simply be that I’m used to it as I’m a big fan the old Marvel SW comics.
(The incorrect colours might bug some people, but I actually think it looked really cool some times.)

Plus, I always gave myself a yellow lightsaber when playing Jedi Knight II: Jedi Academy as a kid. Though in all fairness that was mostly just to annoy my brother who really hated yellow lightsabers (ditto on my choice of species.)

Oh yes, I finally figured out which lightsaber colour’s my least favourite: purple-white with shimmering rainbow colours ala Gantoris’ lightsaber from the Jedi Academy Trilogy. That thing’s too outrageous even for me.

Wait, what? There’s actually a rainbow lightsaber in Legends?

(EDIT: I googled it, but all I can find are pictures of a guy with a regular-looking purple lightsaber. I guess even the illustrators thought it was too crazy.)

I’m partial to this one:

Huh? Is that palatine? I’m confused.

You are a true believer. Blessings of the state, blessings of the masses. Thou art a subject of the divine. Created in the image of man, by the masses, for the masses.

That just confused me even more.

He’s referencing George Lucas’ first film.

This scene to be specific.

(You’ll have to get used to Duracell’s 70’s and 80’s movie references if you’re planning to keep posting on this forum.)

Uh…

Is that an “uh” because of the scene, or an “uh” because Duracell likes to answer with (generally) unrelated movie quotes?
