I have always felt the ESB screenplay credit is unfair to Kasdan. I mean if Lucas really wanted to credit Brackett’s discarded work, at least they should have put Kasdan’s name first on the list.

Yeah, it’s a bit strange. Also, I liteally had to go check the end credit as I did not remember Brackett being credited first. I’ve always just taken it for granted that ESB and ROTJ was written by Kasdan.

I also find it amusing, and a bit strange, that the script says its based on the novel by George Lucas. With stuff like this I find it less and less strange that there are people who believe that SW is based on novels.

So there was a talent agency specializing in Ugly looking gents? Only in England! 😉

Yeah, I was a bit surprised at that myself, especially since I’ve done some short film casting myself. Then again, it makes a lot of sense, though I can’t imagine being so blunt about it would go down well nowadays. Or maybe it would? I’ve never needed an “ugly” actor, specifically.

Have anyone seen any photos of this droid before? The post said it was from ROTJ, but I couldn’t spot it in the torture droid scene, so this is either a background character that didn’t make the cut or they replaced it with another design at some point.

Ah, thanks.

This was the best picture I could find, but it seems he stood by the entrance to the “throne room.” Explains why I didn’t find him in the droid torture chamber scene.

The heck? The Unknown Comic was in ROTJ?

Unfortunately this picture didn’t come with any explanation. However, judging by a lot of these photos, I’m sure Hamill (like the rest of he cast) was just having fun and goofing off

This one’s pretty interesting. Those markings weren’t on the helmet in the finished film so I’m guessing this is from a costume test or something like that.

Back in the day the Boba Fett fandom knew all about how his armor changed color between films, and about various costume tests, both this one and the all-white version. Interesting how that sort of thing gets forgotten generationally.

Well, I know there’s subtle differences throughout ESB and ROTJ, and I know those markings showed up in the concept art, but this is the first time I’ve seen them on the actual costume.

There is another OT trailer of the UK Double-Bill of Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back from 1982. Can’t see it anywhere - it may have only been a TV spot rather than a full theatrical trailer, but it definitely exits. This also gets me thinking if there was also a trailer (or TV spot) for the triple bill from 1983 (or was it 1984)?

I’d love to see that if such a thing exists - that double bill was the experience that got the whole thing started for me. (By the way, the Revenge of the Jedi trailer that showed exclusively in those screenings was posted earlier in this thread).

Sky Movies did a couple of lovely animated idents for their Star Wars Channel:

Do you know which year the first one is from? Only the second video had a date in the title/description.

The shot of Vader at a console may be from that VHS/Board game that came out in the 90’s?

Hmm, I didn’t know that was a thing. I think you’re right, I did a quick check on YouTube and the photo might be for this scene (or one of the later ones); https://youtu.be/_JPSDn0e75Y?t=197

BTW, does anyone know why they didn’t build the entire set for some of these shots, like in the photo above? Al the windows are clearly there in some BTS photos, and its really obvious (pre-SE anyway) that all but the central window has been added in post when you watch the actual movie.

I’m assuming that middle shot is from ROTJ? They built the entire bridge for Jedi but only the single window for Empire (as far as I know).

Ah, that makes sense. The person who uploaded all the photos to imgur had it among the ESB photos so I just assumed it was from that movie.

Still an odd thing to do though. I can’t imagine adding a few more windows would have cost them much, seems more like the kind of budget cut you’d do for a TV series not a big blockbuster movie.
