Vader without his cape looks so weird
Vader without his cape looks so weird
Not sure if this counts but here’s behind the scenes footage of Andrei Tarkovsky’s masterpiece, Stalker. Truly extraordinary!
There’s been a few interviews added to this thread, and this shows the making of a movie, so I’d say it counts. Though I’d appreciate if you could add part 2 & 3 to your post as well (a title would also be nice). Other than that, great find.
I’m not quite sure what scene this is from. Maybe just the actors talking backstage? It seems like they’re standing directly under stage lights though.
Note the two landspeeders on the trucks in the background.
The deleted landspeeder close-shot with the rear-projection turned off.
Pretty cool photo that I’ve never seen before. Seems like its from the scene where Ben and Luke discover the slaughtered Jawas.
Lucas applying some goop to Greedo
This is an interesting photo. I can see Lucas and Kurtz center-right, and someone’s fiddling with a projector in the back, so maybe they’re showing some dailies or a version of the cut or something like that?
One of the few shots were Cushing actually wore his boots.
Shooting the live action plates for the stormtroopers outside the DS hangar bay pehraps?

The programme was first shown in 2001.”
The most notorious example i can think of is him thinking he yelled Carrie on Star Wars.
Star Wars: A New Hope: The “Carrie!” Blooper
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3NZ2zNLIbA
I guess it could just be a “yay” or something like that, but it really does sound a lot like “Carrie” to me. And as far as slip-ups go it makes a lot of sense.
I’m looking for a better quality copy of great movie stunts. The one on Raiders of the Lost Ark.
All i’ve ever seen is a really dodgy laserdisc transfer that was overly compressed and stuck on a single layer DVD. I used to have it on VHS and that was not all that much better.
The overly compressed version that was on youtube was worse than the fan brew DVD.
Hopefully someday the people who did 4K77 will transfer it off of 16mm.
The 4K77 people did make a HD scan of a 16mm print. They also did The Making of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

That headless guy in the middle is really freaking me out.
I’m guessing he moved his head while the camera was set to a slow shutter speed? Either that, or someone did a really lousy Photoshop job removing his face for whatever reason.

I have to say that I find this far less awesome after finding out that the artist actually cuts up comics to make these. Maybe I’m a bit “priggish” (not sure what the correct term is) about these things, but that seems like a really silly way to pay homage to something you like, especially when there’s other ways to accomplish this without having to vandalize actual comics. I’d also imagine it would get pretty costly, even if mostly reprints were used?
Does he not use photocopies of the comics for his art? (and not use the actual comics themselves)
You’d think so, but I found a few YT videos of his and the cutouts had images on the other side suggesting that he cuts actual comics. Plus there’s a photo on his website of him cutting up a fairly old comic as well.

So many feels going on in this one, but I totally understand why this movie couldn’t get made. I wonder if Villeneuve will use any of the concepts and ideas from this… I’m sure he’s seen the “DUNE book”, that massive tome of storyboards and artwork (hell, I’d like to see it!)
I highly doubt he will, and I don’t think he should either. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see Jodorowsky’s version finished in some manner, maybe as an animated film like he suggested in the doc, but having read the original novel I get why the whole thing rubs people the wrong way. Jodorowsky’s Dune would have been his version of Dune, and had little to nothing to do with the Herbert’s novel other than a few names and core plot-points. So I hope Villeneuve manages to make the definitive faithful adaptation, and maybe at some later point the Jodorowsky version can finally be made as an alternate interpretation.
However, speaking of Dune movies;
