Watching it on your computer is not the best way, but you can use Daemon Tools to mount the iso and watch it through that using your DVD software. It might be laggy, but it'll work good enough if you really don't want to burn it to a DVD.

No, no, I DO want to burn it to DVD, but I still have to buy a Dual Layer burner, and for now I just want to check out the movie on my comp. So I just use Daemon Tools?

While you've got the time on your account, get the Single Layer version - the film is the same, it's just missing a couple of the extras of the DVD9.  Then you can have it on disc until you get a DL burner.  Also might want to grab the Purist version, just to have the whole set.

LOL. Yes, clearly Palpatine isn't as sharp as he used to be.

Heh...reminds me of the Robot Chicken sketch...you all know the one.

For comparison's sake:

Original:

VADER: What is thy bidding, my master?
EMPEROR: There is a great disturbance in the Force.
VADER: I have felt it.
EMPEROR: We have a new enemy -- Luke Skywalker.
VADER: Yes, my master.
EMPEROR: He could destroy us.
VADER: He's just a boy. Obi-Wan can no longer help him.
EMPEROR: The Force is strong with him. The son of Skywalker must not become a Jedi.
VADER: If he could be turned, he would become a powerful ally.
EMPEROR: Yes. Yes. He would be a great asset. Can it be done?
VADER: He will join us or die, my master.

2004 DVD:

VADER: What is thy bidding, my master?
EMPEROR: There is a great disturbance in the Force.
VADER: I have felt it.
EMPEROR: We have a new enemy, the young Rebel who destroyed the Death Star. I have no doubt this boy is the offspring of Anakin Skywalker.
VADER: How is that possible?
EMPEROR: Search your feelings, Lord Vader. You will know it to be true. He could destroy us.
VADER: He's just a boy. Obi-Wan can no longer help him.
EMPEROR: The Force is strong with him. The son of Skywalker must not become a Jedi.
VADER: If he could be turned, he will become a powerful ally.
EMPEROR: Yes. He would be a great asset. Can it be done?
VADER: He will join us or die, my master.

A compromise version - common dialogue normal, GOUT dialogue bold, 04 dialogue italic.  All it requires is a swap out of one GOUT Vader line and trimming the rest of the '04 Emperor stuff.

VADER: What is thy bidding, my master?
EMPEROR: There is a great disturbance in the Force.
VADER: I have felt it.
EMPEROR: We have a new enemy, the young Rebel who destroyed the Death Star.
VADER: Yes, my master.
EMPEROR: He could destroy us.
VADER: He's just a boy. Obi-Wan can no longer help him.
EMPEROR: The Force is strong with him. The son of Skywalker must not become a Jedi.
VADER: If he could be turned, he will become a powerful ally.
EMPEROR: Yes. He would be a great asset. Can it be done?
VADER: He will join us or die, my master.

http://www.zizolfo.com/family/john/dvd-inserts-fan-edit.html

Updated my SWR track listing inserts - added single versions for DVD-9/DVD-5 and Purist for those of you that only have one or the other, keep them in separate boxes or just want a single, double-sided sheet instead of the more elaborate foldout version.

I may still change the artwork on the DVD-9...playing with color adjustments...but I wanted to at least get this out there.

You want the impossible Luke's line At 1:11:26 of ESB Any one else notice the ground around Yoda, when luke steps and the ground around Yoda flexes , and sinks. I dont know how to post a pictue of the clip, but that was always something that took me out of that scene of the movie. I posted this before but nobody chimmed in so any boby want to give this a look and opinion also Can that be fixed.

Tell me exactly what line it follows. I know the movie verbatum so I can do it that way. I'll try to post the clip for you to rapidshare or youtube or both.

It's exactly that spot - chapter 31, 1:11:24 on the '04 disc, 1:10:50 on the GOUT.

Low shot, "Yoda-eye" level.  Luke stands up..."You want the impossible."

...then just as Luke starts to walk away, the first step he takes is his left foot nearest Yoda, you see the ground dip and raise maybe 1/2" with the fall and lift of his foot.

Regardless of how wonderful the film is, it's impossible to put the "Vader's your father, Leia's your sister, and Yoda's the little green man" cats back in their respective bags. Unless you haven't seen the prequels or have been living in a cave for the past 25 years. I saw the movies when they were originally in theaters, so those things were surprises to me. Things didn't get leaked on the World Wide Web back then.

I know today's audiences can be obssessed with trailers that reveal too much or hearing spoilers, like not wanting to know what happens in the new Dark Knight movie because they don't want any surprises ruined (can anyone imagine what the ESB trailer would've been like if it had the "No... I am your father" bit in it?).

I'm not saying knowing spoilers in advance makes ESB a bad movie, not at all, just that it's a different viewing experience for any audience when before the movie even starts they already know something about the characters when they're not *supposed* to know about it until it's revealed within the film itself, as the filmmakers originally intended.

I know what you mean. Spoilers/internet access aside, I think part of the problem is the marketing of the film...a lot of studios seem to have this "coddle" mentality - they think that the public won't be "get" the story in 2 hours if it's not explained to them in bite-sized chunks ahead of time. James Cameron talked about it in the commentary on T2. The film is structured so that the audience isn't told until the last possible second that this time Arnie is the hero, but it's almost a waste of effort because the trailers, in order to advertise the film, will reveal that fact months before the film hits the theaters anyway. In the end though, you have to make the film from the story perspective, not the marketing perspective, because once the film leaves the theater and becomes part of everyday life years later, it becomes new again to people who hadn't seen it in the theater originally.

One thing with that trailer that really interests me is the quick explosion footage. It looks to me to be the original explosion for the shield generator. Why didn't they just use that instead of the horribly composited one in the movie i'll never know. the unused one is so much better

Its a pity a few previous frames of that explosion aren't available because i would love to use this for the shield generator.

Talking of which, does anyone have any good quality pictures of the model used for the shield generator at all?

How many frames is "a few"?  Can you "copy/shrink/paint out" a few times to create the frames you need?

Yeah, constant "monotone" would be boring...that's something someone I know said that he liked about JarJar - he broke up the monotony of all those serious Jedis and politicians - but skyjedi takes this "passion" too far the other way.  He's gotta find some balance and maintain it, not just display it when someone forces him to.

I'm sorry if you disagree with me. But I won't apologize for my opinions.

George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are being added to my shit list of directors.

If Spielberg makes another good film sometime in the future i may relent since he did release the original versions of e.t. and close encounters on dvd.

As for Lucas i have always been confused at to his treatment of the original star wars trilogy, unless he somehow changes his mind. Which i seriously doubt. The man is stubborn which is his strength and weakness at the same time.

Again he can tinker the films to his liking as long as he does what every other director worth their salt has done, release decent quality copies of the theatrical cuts in anamorphic.

I'm not asking for a multi million dollar clean up job like lowry or the 1997 release. just what we got in cinemas circa 1977-1983. I don't think that is too much to ask.

"A fanatic is someone who increases his efforts when he's lost sight of his goal"

I have never lost sight of my goal. That is to have the originals restored for a proper dvd release. I signed the petition. I have been a Supporter of George since i was a very young kid. It was only until he treated the movies he created that i loved as a child with a grave disrespect that i turned against him. He became the villain instead of the hero.

My parents went to see his films before i was born so you could say i'm a second generation fan. MY dad is around Lucas age, indeed they shared a lot of the same interests like drag racing cars. MY dad was a huge fan of graffiti.

If i really hated George as much as you guys think why would i have an autographed starlog magazine from the 10th anniversary of star wars signed by him as one of my prized posessions?

That i would own like 13 copies of star wars on every format?

That i would have memorized the Indiana Jones Trilogy and Original Star Wars Trilogy backwards and forwards and watched them hundreds of times over?

I am only enraged at his treatment of the movies, the man himself was a god to me in my youth. I know blasphemy and all that jazz right. I mean he's the guy that got me interested in mythology, in storytelling, filmaking and science fiction and fantasy. The guy that pointed the way to writers like Asimov, Tolkien, Burroughs. and E.E. smith.

MY life is all the more enriched and i owe the man a very great debt i can never repay.

See, why can't you post with that kind of intelligence and sensibility all the time, or at least more often than not? Most of your posts come off as whiny fanboy crybaby pissing and moaning. Posts like this one above should be the rule, not the exception, especially if you want people to take you seriously.

You don't like the SE's and support a proper release of the OUT?  Fine.  State your position calmly and logically and people will listen to you. The problem isn't the message, it's the delivery.  The way you act most of the time makes people hate you.  Right now, you come off as a "disgruntled postal worker" type where all the mail comes crashing through the front window tied to a brick.

The point is you could tone it down once in a while in the interest of civility. We tolerate your bullshit, try returning the favor and tolerating ours.  Intolerant assholes like you are what drive new people away.
