This is also only the second promo.  Films usually have three -

Teaser - this is usually very vague, rarely has any footage from the film.  It's just enough to tell the audience "Yes, the film is being made".

First trailer - this shows key images and characters from the film but usually reveals little if any info about the plot.

Second trailer - this one finally gives you the TV Guide version of what the story itself is about and how the various characters and images connect beyond what you didn't figure out already.

So far, we've seen the Teaser and First trailer.  The Second trailer usually shows up within 2 to 3 months of release, so we should be seeing that one somewhere in the February to March range.  That will be the one to pay attention to.  These first two are just to GET your attention and get buzz going.

Player prices are starting to come down.  Saw a Sylvania unit at BJ's today for $199.

See, now I think the gray Executor looks better because, being a model builder (by hobby, not by trade), my logic is that all the other SDs are grey, why shouldn't the SSD be grey also?  They're made from the same materials, and I don't think fashion is the Empire's top priority.  The SSD is meant to stand out just based on its size...I don't think anyone can mistake it for a regular SD, so why should it be a different color?

That being said, the only reason I ever accepted it as a darker color in any sense was that because it was both bigger and that most of the shots we see it in are from below, I just figured the bottom was logically in shadow because of the size.  In ROTJ, most of the shots you see it in from the top, it's grey like all the other SDs.

But that does make me question the AT-ATs' laser color, because that trailer proves that he himself intended to give the AT-ATs green lasers. Gotta call you out on the bolded parts there, man.  That's "Modern Lucas" mentality, that he always had ultimate dictatorial control over every bit of minutia.  Back in those days, he wasn't the control freak he is now.  It's just as equally possible that ILM did the green lasers on a whim because they were under a deadline to deliver a finished shot for the trailer, THEN Lucas took the time to look at it after the trailer was out and said "Make them red in the final film".

I'm also in the "don't care either way" camp, but Ady's attitude since the beginning of ANH:R has generally been "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".  Lucas changing things just because it CAN be changed is what got SW into this mess in the first place.

Or another Cromartie when they least expect it.  Back in 1990 people (general audience, not fans) couldn't figure out how Arnold could come back for T2.

Ady made an attempt at doing ESB:R in 720p HD but it seriously limited the amount of alternate source material he could use for corrections and changes.  It also took longer to render out, so he went back to SD.

Try the alternative to Ady's power pack swap - put your old hard drive in your working computer and see if it boots.  If it does, then you solved two problems at once - your data is intact and you don't have to re-install Office.

Well, in order to restore the Sandstorm scene, it has to be made available TO restore.  All we have of it right now are still shots and a small MOV of 2 or 3 seconds of the characters walking towards the Falcon.  Nothing substantial.

I collect the figures and I frequent that site all the time.  In their forums, there's an Original Trilogy sub forum where I started a Revisited thread a while ago.  Sent at least a half-dozen copies to people there, who then sent copies to others.

1999 Phantom Menace was hard to stomach Racist Characters like Jar Jar and the Gungans, and the Nemodians.  Poop and Fart Jokes and writing that could have been put together by a juvenile moron.

It would be interesting to see sales numbers of how many units sold of the silver/gold box sets vs the GOUT (both per film and collectively).  If the GOUT outsold the original release, that really says something for what people want as far as content, quality be damned.

3P0's extra line is another one of those sound mix issues - it comes and goes depending which prints were used over the years.  Personally, it sounds "stuck in"...I prefer it without his extra line.
