I haven't the means to burn the DVD-9 version so I've had to content myself with the DVD-5 version.

The only difference between -5 and -9 is a couple of bonus features and the better video quality on the 9 for super-size TV's.  If your set is under 50", the video quality difference is negligble.

Hmm.... Yes.......Yes.......Yess!!!!

Fantastic work Adywan, as usual!

I,m sorry Jeyl but I don't see anything negative with what Ady has done, the X-Wing looks fine to me, in fact it kinda impesses me that the Empire actually hits something, unlike the stormtroopers in ANH & remember Empire is a 'darker' movie anyway, never mind the triumphant music.

And on to warping. Warping!

What is warping?

Bending or melting of plastic or steel?

Star Trek terminolology of going into Lightspeed, perhaps?

Oh yes Jeyl, I think I know what you're talking about,......no the jump to lightspeed looks perfect.

A fantastic effect sequence once again by Adywan. Keep them coming!

Criticisms are a form of evil, aren't they Jaitea? Even I don't think he would take my recent comments as negative, because that's not what they are meant to be. I think Adywan is lucky to have a fan base who are open to making suggestions and criticisms and not constantly be bombarding him with 'yes men' like phrases and praises like yours. That's what Lucas likes to surround himself with.

I was just going to say...Lucas surrounding himself with "yes men" is what got us into this mess in the first place!

The influence of Star Wars in our culture
Time

When I was still living at home, every Christmas my mom and I would get into this bargaining session about what to put on top of the tree.  I liked the classic star, she has this "ball skewered on an icicle" thing that she likes.  Back and forth, this one this year, that one next year, on and on.

By the time I moved out, my sister had already had two kids.  Christmas comes around and mom is thrilled because now that I'm out, there's no one to have the tree top debate with and she can do what she wants (Dad never really cared which tree top was used.)  Dad does mention though that Geoffrey, the younger grandson, said that he likes the star top on the Christmas tree.  Mom gives me a suspicious look, as if I had something to do with it (which, coincidentally, I didn't, but....)

I just smile and tell her "The Force can have a strong influence on the weak mind."

Video card/chip also figures into the equation.  Onboard video, which is probably what that one you're using has, are simple and cheap.  I'm sure your home machine has a real video card, so that's going to put more effort into generating a proper picture.

But just to be sure, adjust that monitor to neutral - put all the brightness, color, contrast and other image settings to 50% and see how it looks then.

I read it (after ROTJ but the signs are there) that Vader is sensing Leia and mistaking her for Luke, knowing Han helped Luke escape the Death Star and shot up his ship adds to the assumption that the person strong in the Force in that ship is Luke (when he finds he isn't there he improvises the trap at Bespin knowing that Luke will feel the pain of his friends).

Dude, that's just Lucasizing.

Vader had no way to know where Luke was during the battle, so failing any hard evidence that he was fighting the walkers, the other logical place for him to be would be on the Falcon during the escape.  And from a "capture the Rebels" perspective, he figured that's where Leia would be too, so it made sense to chase the Falcon instead of worrying about individual X-Wings.

Info Wanted: What Ever Happened To PAY IT FORWARD?

Agreed.  Patience is the key.  I got the DVD5 version of ANH:R one RapidShare file at a time - 47 files - because they had a 1 file/2 hour clock limit for free users at that time.  Every night, and as much time as I could spare on weekends, I was at the computer every 2 hours downloading another piece.  Took me almost 3 weeks, but I did it.

When the DVD9 came out, I figured the $7 for 48 hour access was worth it and got the whole thing in one evening.

Those shots of the interior of the AT-ATs is just too cool that I shudder to think of anything in it changing at all (except maybe normalizing those decals on the back of the helmets).

You mean the red stripes down the center of the drivers helmets?  I think the jury is still out on whether those are a goof or supposed to indicate the interiors of two different AT-ATs.
