You can't trust that... because I am the director of "The Crow: City of Angels"

I'm inclined to believe that is Tim Pope speaking. And what a nice thing to say from someone who clearly still feels wronged by Miramax (oh, don't get me started on Miramax!). Well done to the editor.

Boon verified it - it is the real Tim Pope.  Here's the link from his own blog.

I think you'd be surprised how many ILMers and fx artists are fans of this project and others of its kind. :D

I've often wondered if any in-industry type folk participated or followed fan edits.  Are you saying you know of proof that supports this suspicion?

Ok, the problem  isn't just the indicators now.  I just went to the General SW forum and hit "Unread posts" on a thread I was in last night and it brought me back to the first unread post from over a week ago when the thread started (in case it makes a difference, it's the "Our Fault, Not George's" thread).

The "first unread post" marker isn't updated unless you read the last page of the topic. If a topic is marked as unread and you view it, but don't view the last page, the first unread post remains what it was because viewing the last page is the trigger to reset that value.

Tried that on a few threads - no go.

I'm using Firefox 3.5.3 but I upgraded to it before you upgraded the forum recently, and since this thread indicator issue only started for me in the past couple of days, I'm guessing the browser isn't the culprit.

Also, I just fired up the forums in IE, which I hardly ever use, and IT was even showing all the indicators white, nothing in blue, which means it thinks that everything has been read when, if I haven't used it in such a long time, the forums should come up as unread for the past few months.

Lit eSbare

Just thought I'd post this again, seeing as this topic is brought up again.

It wouldn't be lit because sabers are supposed to have a "dead man switch" - they turn off when you let go of them.  Exception would be when Vader throws his saber at the gantry Luke is on in Jedi, but there you can say that Vader is using the force to keep pressure on the switch so he can throw it.  Any other time we see someone lose their saber - Vader killing Obi on the DS, Vader disarming Luke in the carbon chamber, Maul killing Qui on Naboo - the saber powers off when the user lets go of the hilt.

But, my point remains that it can be shown going out the window with Luke powering off as it goes, since the blade retracts upon power down...it doesn't instantly disappear.  That allows us to have a visual of the saber going out the window that also makes sense in the way sabers operate.

Ok, watching Empire on Spike just now and I noticed something else that can be fixed - not an error, just an "improvement suggestion".

When Luke goes out the window during the final duel, in the shot immediately before, his saber is still on and in his hand.  In the shot after, he's hanging onto the ledge and the saber is powered off and sitting at the bottom left.  Is there a way to animate a saber powering down and tumbling out the window along side him?

I'm sure Vaderios or someone else can whip up a before/after to show what I mean.

All day today (9/20), every time I come to the forums, all the folder icons are white, nothing in blue (using the OT Old School scheme).  When you go into each sub-forum, the threads with action in them have "first unread post" written down below the title but still all the folder icons are white, nothing color coded to indicate which threads have activity.

Are you a politician, or were you one in a former life?  Because you just went out of your way to say basically nothing except to try and guilt me into thinking highly of you.

FAIL.

Stop trying to force yourself to sound intelligent and answer my original question - what do you consider a "good" show that shouldn't have been cancelled?

It might be fun if as many originaltrilogy.com members as possible did a group commentary.

People could submit commentary snippets and the sound could be edited together.

It would be like we were all in the room together, it would be easier for Ady to reply to comments made by other people than to just chat all the way through.

If it worked it could become a feature on a lot of the edits featured here.

And instead of trying to badger Ady into re-issuing the disc with the commentary track, just make it available as an MP3 file that people would play in sync with their own Revisited disc, a la Rifftrax.
