Star Wars live action show on hold according to rebel scum article.
Time

Stop focusing on the money issue and read between the lines.  Hollywood is as much politics as it is product, if not more.  The budget excuse is just a convenient way to blame others for the delays without having to name names.  If he came out and said "Joe Smith at XYZ Studio is being a pain in the ass" that would in turn alienate him from the people he's forced to collaborate with for certain elements of the process.  As much as he wants to pretend he can do it all himself, he knows he can't, so until he's TRULY self sufficient, he still has to play in other people's sandboxes every now and then, and you don't do that by kicking that same sand in their faces.

I think you're all dancing around the word that defines Lucas now -

Control.

It's at the point where everything is about him getting his way, period.  That's why the OOT got shafted on DVD, that's why the PT turned out the way it did, that's why he's putting the TV show on hold.  He's letting Clone Wars run as it is because it's a cartoon so he doesn't hold it to as high a technical or narrative standard as live action.  (Not that I think CW sucks, but I can see moments here and there where a story had to be simplified for time or compromised for censorship safety.)

I'm sure profit margins figure into part of this, but probably not as much as zombie84 suspects.  More likely there's some legal fine print between Lucas, Fox and the networks that's giving them some measure of control over the show that Lucas won't agree to.  They don't want to play his game so he's gonna take his ball and go home.

In fact the "augghhhh" sounds like he's throwing up in his helmet. If i can eliminate the gurgling effect then i'll probably be returning it back to its original state as the SE effect is just a repeat from a few seconds earlier.

Adywan, If you choose the SE sound from 97, please change it a bit so it sounds more different than a repeat (maybe an echo would do the trick?)

And now to something completely different!

I think i've found out a way to fix the repeated yell problem without having to use the original gurgling version:

See, now that actually surprised me.  I thought you were gonna put in the Wilhelm.

Nice one Mr J!

I dont know if its really an error or what but shouldnt the blast mark shouldnt be there before the laser hits the tower?

-Angel

Unless Ady wants to paint out the burn mark prior to the laser hit (not impossible, considering everything else he's fixing) the easier solution would be to have another blaster shot already hitting the turret on the first frame, then the shot that comes in causes the final damage.

Assuming he follows form, he'll release a color corrected (and hopefully minimally restored, as in Lapti Nek and Sebastian Shaw ghost) AVCHD of ROTJ either very near or just after the completion of ESB:R, since he did the ESB AVCHD near the end of ANH:R gearing up for ESB:R.

Beyond that, I'm sure he's making notes for ROTJ:R as ideas hit him but won't say much until work officially begins on it.

New Spider-Man Movie Basically a Batman Begins Remake

Here's my theory:
Marvel is getting all of its properties back and rebooting them ("The Incredible Hulk" and the just-announced "Punisher", for example) so that they can exist the shared Avengers Movie Universe they are creating. Sony must have still have the rights for more Spider-man movies, so they're going to reboot it while they still can so that when the rights defer back to Marvel, Marvel will be less likely to reboot it for the third time in a decade and Sony can still bank on their existing movies instead of having them erased by what would amount to be the "Official Marvel" version.
This is only my theory, but I think it makes sense business-wise.

Almost.  The story as I understand it is kind of the reverse - Sony's license stated that a Spidey film had to be in production by a certain date or the rights would revert back to Marvel, which is why they were trying to push Spidey 4 along.  When Sam, Tobey and the rest walked because Sony was turning the film into another Spidey 3 by trying to cram a ton of stuff into it, Sony turned around and put the reboot concept into production.

This isn't about improving on what came before, nor is it related to Marvel's control over their other licenses.  This is about Sony holding onto the Spidey license, plain and simple.

Ugh.  Why are they rebooting this franchise?  It's only been three years since the last one!  That was the amount of time in between the second and third movie!  Couldn't they at least give the old series a decade or so to get cold first?  I mean, continuing the same film continuity with new actors would be bad enough, but THIS?!

It's a business decision on Sony's part.  A fourth film was started with the old crew but it wasn't going well - Sony was sticking their fingers in it like they did with 3 - so Sam and the gang walked.

Sony's contract with Marvel stated that if a movie wasn't in production by a certain date, they loses the rights to the character, so Sony cooked up this "reboot" idea in order to hold on to the rights.

Make sure you don't mix up AM and PM though.  Next thing you know, you'll wake up 1000 years from now and your new best friends are a robot and a cyclops.
