Aand, Fanboys get a victory!
Time
The 501st are especially pissed about Fanboys because they were actually in the movie. Apparently they volunteered costumes, as well as themselves as extras, to help shoot this ultra-low budget film.

What I find hilarious is how much their panties are in a knot over the change in direction of the film. Sure, it's pretty bad when someone like TWC steps in and says "we need more crude language and nudity in this film or it won't do well," along with trying to remove the cancer plot and make it just about crazy-ass fans who have nothing better to do than break into Skywalker Ranch. But some of those 501st guys are acting like it's an insult to them personally that the film has been changed - as if this sort of thing never happens in the film industry, and they wouldn't have volunteered to help make the film anyway. http://media.ign.com/boardfaces/25.gif Furthermore, they're saying that taking out the cancer plot is a direct insult to the founder of the 501st, whose daughter died of cancer last year. They really don't need to go there.

Not sure if I would call that a victory per se. We already knew in a way that they would release both versions on DVD. This announcement is just the Weinstein Company attempting to deal with the imminent protesting for "Superhero Movie". It proves that they are paying attention to the fans, but probably not much else.

On the other hand, they have to know by now that irritating ~90% of the people who will eventually go see Fanboys has got to count for something. Maybe they really are considering releasing the film with the cancer plot intact.

Political compass: interesting test

But I just copied the text direct from imageshack just as I had before when it worked.

Knightmessenger, you need to understand that this is a completely new forum software, not just an upgraded "new look" of the old forum. All of the users and posts are here, but everything else is running on entirely different coding. Markup codes are not going to be the same, and at this point a lot of features are missing as Jay continues to work on the software. Please read Jay's announcement post to get an understanding on what's going on.

Page Navigation
Time
Perhaps redundant, but an easy way to refresh a page, can the page navigation links be extended by one level on the forum pages? In other words, could the main forum page navigation read "originaltrilogy.com :: forums ::" instead of just "originaltrilogy.com ::" and then could the forums themselves have their respective links as well?

LOST
Time
From what I read on the Lost timeline, it was Christmas eve when Desmond called Penny from the boat, but it was actually the day AFTER Christmas on the island. The date on Jin's tombstone was September 22nd, the date of the plane crash. So it would appear that The Six are telling everyone he died on the plane. I guess whether he's really dead or not is up for debate.

Video Games - a general discussion thread

I honestly think they should make a Nintendoland to compete with Disneyland. Maybe even a Nintendoworld. I know I'd take my kids. They could have a show with people dressed up like Nintendo characters (in those costumes from the original Super Smash Bros. TV ad), fighting and trying to knock one another out of the ring. They could also have a cool Donkey Kong mineshaft ride. An "Its a Small World After All" rip off with mushroom people. They could make a Pokemon sufari sort of thing for little kids where you go on a tour through a land filled with anamatronic Pokemon. A pirates of the Caribean rip off feature Kaptian K. Rool and his pirates from Donkey Kong Country 2. A Metroid themed Space Mountian rip off. A few Zelda themed rides, etc. They have a lot of material to work with. Of course it could never work, Disney reaches a lot wider of an audience than Nintendo does, every kid who watches cartoons sees a few things Disney, but not every kid who plays video games is exposed to Nintendo trademark characters.

That is a freakin' awesome idea! I would totally go and I don't even have kids.

Problems staying logged in....
Time
OK I've tried this myself in Firefox and I am also having this issue. Usually I don't ever close my browser so I hadn't noticed this before.

If I log in with Firefox, making sure "remember me" is checked, I will stay logged in even if I close a tab and then open a new one to OT.com. But if I close the browser and come back, I am logged out again. I am using FF 2.0.0.12 and XP SP2.

I pulled up the cookies for OT.com, but I'm not really sure what I'm looking at. Would any of that information help Jay?

Edit: I get the exact same results using IE 7.0.5730.13.

Posting Error
Time
Got this error while trying to reply in the X0 Project thread:

Error Occurred While Processing Request
Error Executing Database Query.

Tried the quick reply and then the regular one but no dice. I don't think it's the first time it's happened today. Is that enough info for you or should I copy/paste more of the error next time?

"Last Post" Problem?
Time
On the main page, it seems like there is some inconsistancy with the "Last Post" information at times. When I moved the "Uploading Author Icon" thread into this forum, it listed the last post in that thread as the last post for the forum, even though it shouldn't be chronologically.

Also, it seems like if a post is deleted, it is still reported as the last post.

Lastly, some forums are reporting the initial post in the board-wide announcement as the last post even though there are newer posts in other threads.
