Star Wars Poster Book - SCANNED!

A thread like this creates a bit of a dilemma. On one hand, these are scans out of a book you can buy in a store or online. On the other hand, these are images of posters used in countless pieces of fan art across the net.

I'm going to leave this open for the simple fact that these posters are already available online. But don't make this an excuse to start posting scans of every single Star Wars book you own.

And that's also not to say Moth3r or Jay will agree with me...

Also, to me one thing the touchdown call on wheither or not the ball had crossed plane indicates to me is that the wording to replay rule needs to change. Think about it because of the wording of the replay rule (needing clear and inconvertable evidence to overturn the call the field), replay was cancelled out. That play was not decided by replay, but was decided by the original call on the field. As Coov pointed out, if the call on the field had been no touchdown, replay would not have been able to overturn that as well. I think the replay rule should be worded so that the ref makes his final ruling based on the preponderance of all the evidence together(replay, his own eyes, and the eyes of the other officals). Just because the replay isn't crystal clear doesn't mean it should be thrown out entirely.

I think if they did that, we'd be crying for more blood than we already are. It would be left more up to what a ref THINKS he saw than what the replay shows or doesn't show. Officials already get together (usually) and decide what to call before they announce it.

How Did You Find OT.com?
Time
I used to be a MillenniumFalcon.com junkie back in it's hayday. Someone from this board (I can't remember who anymore) PM'd me a couple of times about something (my preservation project I think). Included was a link to ot.com. I followed that link out of sheer curiosity and now look at me. Curse you whoever you are (were)! I thought I'd be done with Star Wars after ROTS.

NON-Star Wars Fan Edit and Alternate DVD Covers SHOWCASE
Time
I think it really comes down to personal preference. I agree somewhat with Rikter - adding a barcode kind of makes it look like you're trying too hard or that you're trying to fool someone. A barcode is only on retail DVDs in the first place because it HAS to be. If you're creating one yourself, why bother with it? The same goes for fine print/legal mumbo jumbo. I don't really think a barcode makes a cover look any more professional, but to each his own I guess...

I decided to take a different approach for my MST3K discs. With over 200 episodes, burning a CDR and printing a label for each one is pretty time consuming and expensive. Instead, I'm burning them to DVD which can hold up to 6 per disc. I should have gone this direction in the first place before I burned the first 50 episodes. Oh well, at least I didn't print all the labels...

Please Welcome OT's Newest Moderator
Time
Well guys, it's time for a bit of a change around here.

My job is making it more difficult for me to spend as much time around here as I would like. For the next few months, you'll be seeing less and less of me. In order to help Jay out in keeping an eye on the Preservations Forums, I am happy to announce that Moth3r has agreed to step up and become our newest moderator.

I will still be around, but in a limited capacity. I should still be able to check my pm's every now and then if you need to get ahold of me.

Again, congrats Moth3r. I know you'll do a great job.

Careers
Time
I joined the US Air Force almost 4 years ago to work on satellite communications. I've been stationed in Montana for the last two years doing something completely different with com equipment that shouldn't exist anymore. It's mostly classified, but I'll just say that I help keep the nukes at the ready.

I get out in a little over three months, and that day can't come soon enough. I really hate this place. But anyway, I'll be going back to college in Denver to finish my degree. I really want to be a web designer, or do something with video editing or production. Not really sure yet.

Because when I first started out, I was trying to get as close as possible to the SE DVDs. I spent hours in Premiere trying to get each shot looking like the DVDs. Of course, we all know that the SE DVDs have their own color isssues, and aren't really a good color reference.

The holidays slow things down. My workcenter is having some huge inspections over the next few weeks so I'll be working at least 6 days a week. Not much time to work on the project. I'll be back with a vengence next month hopefully. For now I'm just lurking mostly; doing the "mod" thing.

nin, I'd still like to help you out as much as I can. Please email me at "feedback at x0project dot com".
