Info Wanted: Superbit?
Time
Compression and bit rate are the reasons why. DD tracks on DVD can be up to 448kbps, while DTS can be up to 1.5Mbps. The AC3 track on the LD is an even higher bit rate I believe. Also, I'd be willing to bet the DTS audio on the THX demo disc is just a recompressed version of the Dolby master.

However, if you compare a soundtrack mastered by DTS to a soundtrack mastered by Dolby, there can be distict differences. If anyone out there has both a copy of the DD version of Jurassic Park and the DTS version, compare the audio of the opening credits. I used to demo this for people when I worked at Circuit City. There's a part in the opening credits of the film where the bass kicks in with a solid "boom". In the DTS version, the bass is tight and solid. On the DD version, the bass is very weak and sounds muddy. The chirps of the birds and wind instruments are also much clearer on the DTS version. Is this the same case with your Superbit DVD gl?

These are obviously fakes, which means they are bootlegs, which means I had to remove the link.

Star Wars in Superbit would be awesome though. But consider that Lucas has a thing about not including DTS on any of his releases, sighting how great the THX Doby Surround EX soundtracks are. But anyone who's had the chance to listen to the pod race sequence in DTS off the THX demo disc knows how vastly superior a 6.1 discreet channel DTS track would be.

Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat

I loved both games back in the day. And I still play them on my MAME emulator. If I had to choose one, I'd have to say MK just because it was more "realistic", I love fatalities, and I liked the story better. I used to be able to beat SSF2 on SNES on the hardest setting without having to continue. MK2 and UMK3 were much harder.

Speaking of MAME, here's my custom made joystick:

Info: Subtitle font used in Star Wars (ANH, ROTJ)
Time
Here's another suggestion from Darryl Herschler's web site. The font from his site is Alt Gothic (aka "AlternateGothic2 BT"). Let's do a little comparison, shall we?

I've taken Darryl's suggestion along with Molly's ("Franklin Gothic Demi Condensed") and DE's ("AlternateGotNo3D"), added a couple of my own, and compared them to the X0 capture of the US Definitive LD. "Franklin Gothic LT Extra Condensed" and "AlternateGothicEF No.2" are two fonts I have that look pretty close as well.

I would include "FF Dirty Seven Two" but I don't have it.

The fonts have been spaced to match the LD capture.

I think AlternateGotNo3D looks the closest out of these. But it still doesn't look like the exact font.

Image updated with DE's font.

But from that list, I'd have to go with Knight Rider. Hasselhoff was da bomb yo.

I think Masters of the Universe was my favorite show when I was really little. Saved by the Bell was my favorite show as a pre-teen. After that, MST3K all the way.

And speaking of which, what about the cartoons? Masters of the Universe? Thundercats? GI Joe? Ninja Turtles? Voltron? Transformers?

So, Zion...who's your fav? Mike or Joel?

I don't really have a preference. I like them both for different reasons. Everything from season 2 on was great.

(I already voted for KR so I can't vote for MST3K)

Blu-Ray is actually 25GB single layer and 50GB dual layer. Although more than two layers are possible in the future.

I find it ironic that everyone is talking about this, especially when DL versions of fan projects are still few and far between. Besides, only in the past 6 months has the cost of DL media been low enough to purchase in bulk.
