Idea: Uploading preservation projects to Google Video
Time

Someone uploaded all four versions of the Thief and the Cobbler to Google Video. So is it possible that I could do the same?

I’ll upload all versions of Star Wars from the past to the present, explaining their changes. And in the description, I’ll post a disclaimer saying that it is not for profit or personal gain, it is strictly for educational viewing, as it is important to learn of the changes to a film. I’ll also put that the uploader was Lucasfilm Ltd., as the guy who uploaded the Thief put Miramax Family Films, the Completion Bond Company, etc.

I’d really like to do this, but I just don’t want to get in any trouble. Will it be all right if I do it? Or not?

SWF Star Wars (* unfinished project *)
Time
Well I'll try it first. Just so you know, I don't plan to make any money off of this. This is just for preservation, and I'm going to convert all of them so people can see all the changes between the films without having to go through all that effort and confusion.

But if the mods delete the link, I apologize for any inconvience, and I'll just convert the films for myself, because my old desktop still can't read any video files except flash.

SWF Star Wars (* unfinished project *)
Time

I was thinking of converting Star Wars movies to SWF. That way, they’re not so large in size, and can play on anyone’s computer if they don’t have video codecs. I got a new laptop and am right now converting the Original Star Wars to AVI format, which I’ll then convert to SWF.

Here’s what I plan on doing:

The EditDroid Trilogy
The 2004 Trilogy
The Prequel Trilogy

I’m uploading them to MyDataBus, but for preservation efforts, where can I put them anywhere else?

EDIT:
I couldn’t find a free SWF converter. The converter I’m using puts the company logo in the corner of every SWF I save. It’s unobtrusive in 2.35 Widescreen, and some people here could make it anamorphic…

STOP WITH GIRL PHOTOS (NSFW)
Time
Just so you know, you guys severely hindered my cousin's likeness of this forum and his taste for the OOT because of this. True, all he need to do was avoid the beutiful women thread, but you guys (especially ricarlette) just upset him. I sent him to Outer Rin Sieges to chill out for a while, but if he comes back, try to be a bit easier on him, all right?

MTV Interview and New Favorite Movie
Time
All right, I'll stay with Star Wars.

After all, DOOM walked the same path. It recieved a Special Edition with a fourth episode that was much more difficult than the entire game and tied it in with DOOM 2's storyline, when the original game was standalone. And you can't get the Original version officially anymore, except for the release on XBOX Live, you must download a fan-made patch for it. So I like the Original DOOM and like to think of it as standalone, nothing else after it.

And I'll do the same with Star Wars. Thank you for clearing that up for me.

MTV Interview and New Favorite Movie
Time
I love Star Wars, and right now the Original Theatrical Version is my favorite movie of all time. But what George Lucas said at his MTV interview, about people wanting the SE or the OOT and it all turning out in the end, really upset me. Even worse than the actual movies. So much, that I might have to pick a new favorite movie of all time, since Lucas is trying to keep me from watching this one.

The #1 Runner-up:
The Thief and the Cobbler

I fell in love with this movie from the start. There is NOTHING offensive in it, so that makes it a breather for me. And now I'm ready to make it my favorite movie of all time. I have and love all 5 versions of the film, but am deciding wheteher to make the Workprint or the Recobbled Cut my favorite of them all.

So should I stick with Star Wars, or move on to the Thief? Because I'd rather help a good guy get his original vision out, instead of fighting a bad guy for his unoriginal vision...
