What? Well, v2.5 will probably be released eventually but not any time soon. First I want to do Jedi.

 Sounds great!

And that is actually why I stopped by the thread. The newsletter almost made it sound like V 2.0 is almost a temporary version, with 2.5 on its way soon.

Sorry for the confusion, guys.  But yeah, the MKV of 2.0 is next and then probably ROTJ 2.0 - then, hopefully, Harmy will backtrack and put out a 2.5 for these as well to catch up to Ep IV.

But in any event, the newsletter was sent to notify everyone of the AVCHD release with the MKV coming shortly.

The 35mm stereo mix was most likely the first to be completed, since it contains the least number of sound effects compared to other versions, and may have required the most testing in order to ensure its technical compatibility.  However, it and the 70mm six-track would have been created at virtually the same time, since the actual original mix was not the stereo version itself, but a four-track master from which both the stereo and 70mm mixes were derived.

The stereo would have been created by downmixing the four-track into a matrixed LtRt, with peak limiting applied to fit it into the reduced headroom of the optical format, and the panning width reduced somewhat to avoid excessive crosstalk between channels when upmixed again during playback.  The 70mm version contained the four discrete channels but with unrestricted dynamic range, and with the addition of bass content in the other two channels generated by a subharmonic synthesizer in order to bolster the impact of explosions and spaceship flybys.  A very small number of additional sound effects (four, by my count) were added to the 70mm that are not present in the 35mm stereo, but for all intents and purposes they are virtually the same mix, simply optimized for different presentation formats.  Listening to either will serve you well, depending what kind of sound system you have.

 ....what he said.  :)

Oh, no, they are just in the order in which the donations came. I will probably try to put them into alphabetic order. Anyone know how to do this easily? I have them as a simple .txt file.

Copy them into a spreadsheet program, sort A-Z. Should work. If you don't want to do it, just PM them to me.

 Psh, young people these days...

sort acb.txt > abc.txt

I sorted them for him real quick and sent them back.  No worries.  He only has to add any new ones at this point.  Or, if a lot more donations roll in for him (cough cough) I can re-sort them later.  :)

Much appreciated guys - it seems the returning of the broken motherboard won't work out (they found that some of the pins on the CPU bed were slightly bent and tey said I must have done it and gave it as a reason to not refund me for the mobo, even though I'm convinced it can't possibly be what was causing the problems, which didn't appear until I put in the additional RAM), so this will help a little to cover the cost of the new one.

 You're most welcome.

And I don't know where or who you're getting your motherboard from but that sounds like a pretty shady reason to not replace it.  If it worked at one time and all you did was add RAM, you didn't touch the bed after that.  Anyway, any reputable dealer would only need to ship the board back to the manufacturer and get a credit - it's not like they're losing money on it. (sigh)

Didn't think it would be as difficult to rank as it sounds, I guess I was assuming it was all noted down in a spreadsheet with the converted values to your local denomination (if that's what paypal shows you on the receiving end) next to names...  A text file of names you'd have to match up to donations in multiple currencies this long after the fact, yeah, that'd be a hassle.  It was just a thought, stemming from my wondering how my donation stacked up to others, more comparison than competition, really.

Yeah, I agree with Harmy on this one.  Showing what each person donated would be slapping it in the faces of the ones who either didn't send in a comparable amount or couldn't afford to.  I know that's not your intentions (at least I hope not) but some people would take it that way.

Alphabetized is probably best. (send me the file, Harmy, if you still need that done)

Just proofed the whole thing on my end and did not see any other misspellings so, nice catches n00b.  I also verified that there was a space after each comma when multiple names were listed on the same line for a skill. (this was not reported, it was just something secondary to look at while I was scanning)  I kept uncovering the overlay to check the GOUT just to be sure.

Nice job, guys!

OK, assuming I haven't missed anything else. I've uploaded a new PSD and will send you the link via PM, Harmy. Just a second...

Hey Jonah, can you PM the link to the PSD?  I can take a look as well.  I have PS installed and work with it daily and I'm also a stickler for grammar and spelling.
