It burns the old Jedi texts for crying out loud, as a statement that the ancient history of the Jedi is boring.
That really pissed me off as a message the film gives at that point. “History is boring, let’s burn it for a few laughs.” And coming from Yoda it didn’t suit at all. I get the idea what it was trying to make which is let’s begin with a clean slate, but you should never turn your back on history. It always teaches something. That’s like burning constitutional laws or something.
The message being that the Jedi Order was wrong: the Force shouldn’t be a dogma. It shouldn’t be teached from ancient books by secluded monks to a few selected novices, but made accessible to everyone.
They’re not tablets, as they’re not interactive. They’re more portable flat vertical TVs !
(btw, what is Wearble Tech ?!)
Unfortunately there’s no starfighter battles (yet?) in Arcade (solo & splitscreen)
JEDIT- I have no idea what’s up with the numbers! it goes from 12 to 1 in my post/edit screen, but 12 to 23 when I post it!
ANYBODY KNOW WHAT’S UP?
It’s MarkDown faults. I don’t know if it’s a bug or a feature but with any numbered list it takes the first number and just increment it for the following lines.
If you write:
12. One
3. Two
47. Three
1138. THX
It shows as:
But if there’s no blank line before the list, it’s not interpreted as a list by MarkDown, it’s just the original text:
12. One
3. Two
47. Three
1138. THX
Isn’t LD basically the same technology as CD ? Maybe a CD manufacturing plant could be converted to press LD ? Producing the master may be complicated, the video track being analog…
Speaking of which, well, almost…
if you’re in the UK (and maybe abroad - it could be well worth a try too?) - the Big Sleeve edition of Rogue One on blu ray is available again - though this time it is available online too:-
https://www.tesco.com/direct/rogue-one/411-7216.prd?skuId=411-7216&source=others - £25 each, free delivery or pick up in the UK.
One as to love gray-blue colour I guess…
It’s a very good FPS, with extraordinary starfighter battles, but hindered by an excruciating progression system stupidily tied to loot boxes.
And what happened with the first new Battlefront ? It’s far from perfect but a fun game that capture nearly perfectly the look and feel of Star Wars ! Better than that it was almost only Original Trilogy, with very few Special Edition additions.
The last word was that Sony was trying to buy Fox, not Disney…
Maybe it’s negotiation tactics: Fox got Sony interested to force Disney to accept their terms ?
How do we call us, fans of the theatrical OT ? GOUTers ?
The solo campaign in the new Star Wars Battlefront II game makes for a pretty good direct sequel to ROTJ !
You can see both types of walker, gorilla and standard (but not quite the ESB type)
So don’t buy him if you don’t want to? I seriously don’t understand the fuss. The game gives you points that you can redeem for Vader or the other locked characters for doing literally everything. Just play the damn game that you ostensibly like and bank the credits if you don’t want to spend the money.
Requirements have now been reduced, but someone with early access of the game calculated that you needed to play 40 hours just to unlock Vader! That is saving all your in-game earned credits just for one hero, without progression and improvements in other parts of the game, like for the weapons. That’s quite the grind.
You can unlock Vader immediately if you pay real money. It’s what pisses gamers, considering a game that cost 60$
These ongoing negotiations may explain why there was no re-release of the movie for its 40th anniversary.
You can quote a post with a picture to see how it’s done.
More like the fourth trilogy! But it’s easy (?!) to forgot the prequels…
Alien ?
You never heard of the Millennium Falcon? It’s the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs
But… Who was piloting it? 😉
Flight sticks do exists, even complicated and expensive ones. And there is space sims games (Elite Dangerous) with extensive controls.
The little VR experience in the first new Battlefront where you fly a X-Wing is absolutely exhilarating !
The LD box is square and flat. Still pyramid shaped, but somewhat lame compared to the VHS box.
I have it but it’s pretty busted, and missing the booklet 😦
Here’s what it looks like:
(not mine)
If you’re wondering, it’s à French VHS box set from the early nineties. There’s also a pyramidal laserdisc box set.
In the last picture, the movies and the documentary aren’t even in the right order !
