Superman Movie
Time
Poseidon.

This town I'm in, Jamestown, it's a joke. There's 2 cinemas with uncomfortable seats each showing 2 movies (one at 7, one at 9). I had a choice of Poseidon, MI:2, some comedy called RV starring Robin Williams, and another comedy called Larry the cable guy.

Poseidon was pretty good though - does what it says on the tin. Just an enjoyable 90 minutes, nothing more, nothing less.

For Superman though I'm gonna drive 100 miles to the next town (Fargo, as in the movie) to catch it on a decent screen with surround sound.

I hate that I have to retake my driving test. What am I, 16?

I hear that man, I totally hear that (you are talking to someone who wants to be either a professional musican or an animator, or both)

What are you going to do with your SE discs?

Us, who love the OT and are here for that very reason, or you, who are here to pick fights? If you don't like what we are discussing, don't join in. I am not against alternate opinions or a voice of reason if that is indeed what you have to offer, but what's it to you if we send our discs back?

This is ORIGINALTRILOGY.COM. What did you expect? I'm not about to go to an original Star Trek site and try and tell them they are nuts because the Next Generation was far superior. Even if that was my opinion (it is actually), why would I go and rain on their parade? I would have to be extremely sad, bitter and very bored to do that. I just don't care enough to do that.

If Lucas is going to go around basically baiting us by saying crap like 'we'll see which versions the people prefer' or whatever while packaging the 2 versions together so we really have no way to rise to the challenge and really show him which versions we prefer, of course we are going to try and find some way to wave the OT flag come september.

if you really loved star wars, you wouldnt pass shit versions of the movies to already less-than-fortunate kids.
Good point. Those poor kids have it bad already without that shit in their lives.

Should there be an ULTIMATE EDITION!

Now that we are getting the OTR on DVD, I really don't care what Mr. Insano (aka George Lucas) does to the films, and I think that some of your changes sound OK if you wanted a 6 part saga that works. Personally I think the best way would have been to make prequels that matched and did't contradict the originals, but hey. From a hypothetical standpoint I don't see any problem with Je's ideas. But replacing Alec Guinness?

BTW you might like to check out the Starkiller Ranch thread in the preservations section - they are working on edits of all six movies so that they work better as a saga.

Nope, every series is best of 7, the whole way through. In effect, the team who eventually wins the Stanley Cup will have won 16 games through four series (conference quarter-finals, conference semi-finals, conference finals, Stanley Cup Finals). The winning team will play between 16 and 28 games over the course of 8 weeks.
I see. Thanks.

True.

EDIT: Shit, didn't mean to double post there - I meant to edit my previous post. Oh well, one more for me I guess...

Nothing against you personally, YIYF, I just think it's funny the way the playoffs turned out this year. I mean, if you would have said a month ago that Anaheim would be playing Edmonton () in the Western Conference Finals, you would have been laughed at. I chose Edmonton because I was born and grew up in Edmonton, London, and I chose Anaheim because I am moving to California and also because I thought it was kinda cool that the Mighty Ducks were an actual team and not just from a movie. So yeah, I guess conventional hockey knowledge didn't mean shit this season.

A series refers to when two teams battle it out in a best-of-7 contest to see who moves on in the playoffs. The first team to win 4 games wins the series. The higher-ranking team as the home advantage, which means they play the first two games at home, and also the 5th and 7th if necessary.
Ah, I see. I think. So it's basically a knock out tournament, but it's best of 7 rather than just the one game. Makes sense. Does it continue in this way or does it become a one-game winner takes all thing in the later stages?
