OT.com Hockey Playoff Pool RULES IN FIRST POST
Time
Yeah, it makes sense. Pretty soon I think I'll have the hockey basics down, then I can progress to being a hockey fan. I gotta say, I enjoyed the game yesterday and I'm looking forward to the first match of the final series. My favourite spectator sport is definitely still football (soccer to you guys), but hockey is kinda similar in that you have a goalie, a net, and not many goals, which makes it all the more exciting when somebody scores, as opposed to say, basketball, where somebody scores every 30 seconds.

There are two series left. The Western Conference Finals, and the Eastern Conference Finals. The winners of the two series play each other in the Stanley Cup Finals. Why are there 2 'conferences'? Does one contain all the Eastern teams and one all the western? Why not just have one big conference?

Think of it like the AFC and NFC Championship games. The winners play in the Super Bowl.

No shit. You been smoking something?

Lando: Oh, not as well as I'd like. We're a small outpost and not very self-sufficient. And I've had supply problems of every kind. I've had
labor difficulties...What's so funny?

Han: You. Listen to you -- you sound like a businessman, a responsible leader. Who'd have thought that, huh?

Lando: You know, seeing you sure brings back a few things.

Han: Yeah.

Lando: Yeah, I'm responsible these days. It's the price you pay for being successful.

Thanks for your confirmation. A knowledgeable source would have corrected me and told me there were 59 peaks, and that's only counting peaks over 14,000', which was his goal.

SOMEBODY JUST GOT SCHOOLED BY THE SYBEMAN.
Damn right. Ouch.

Superman Movie

My bad - they're showing MI:3. I haven't seen it yet, but the piece of shit they call MI:2 coupled with my detest for Tom Cruise has put me off it so far. But with Jamestown's limited cinematic ameneties, I might have to succumb to the Cruisester.

And The Da Vinci code is out tomorrow so it looks like one of the other 3 movies will have to be dropped. I'm betting RV will get the chop. We'll see.

What a shit place to live. I'm glad I'm only here temporarily.

Finally Burned Out On Star Wars...
Time
Cassidy,

You know, you can still stick around here and talk about things other than Star Wars - I spend the majority of my time in the off-topic section.

I know how you feel with Star Wrs, and you're right - it's just a movie man. Sure, it's a movie that went a long way towards moulding us as young people, and we probably wouldn't be who we are without it, but there are more imporatnt things. Maybe now you have realised that, a day will come when you can enjoy it again.

If you choose to abandon all things Star Wars, including this site, all the best dude, we'll miss ya.

I'm sure some kind of job is meant to be.

It's been 3 weeks since I finished at my last job and 1 and a half weeks since I arrived in the states, and already I have slipped into lazy mode (getting up late, not doing much throughout the day, etc). With work life a mere memory, I am dreading the time when I have to get off my arse and get a new job. I hate starting a new job, and it's even more daunting and scary doing it in another country.

Previously on the Empire Strikes Back Script Game....

Han: No, I don't have a landing permit. I'm trying to reach Lando Calrissian......Whoa wait a minute let me explain

Pilot: You will not deviate from your present course

3PO: Rather touchy, aren't they?

Leia: I thought you knew this person.

Chewie: Raragargh

Han: Well, that was along time ago...I'm sure he's forgotten about that.

New DVDs NOT 16x9

Then having them smugly saying the new one is better quality and "I told you so".... Just not on and NOT at full bloody retail price!!! PLUS many of us already have the 2004 editions now anyway and we have to get these AGAIN with the original release. It's F-ing obscene marketing!

Perfect analogy.
