Germany just beat Equador 3-0 so they will play the runner up of group B. Hopefully England will beta Seweden, win the group and avoid Germany until later.

I think you we need to add something along the lines of 'with regard to your comments that sales of this set will show what versions the fans really want, I am returning the SE discs in oder to help you with your calculations' or something like that.

Well, it's over and Carolina won the cup. As a new Edmonton fan it was very disappointing. I thought they might come back in the last quarter but then that empty net goal finished it.

Oh well, next year I'll follow the cup with a bit more knowledge of the game and I'll know who I'm routing for from game 1.

What were the final pool scores, BTW? And where's Sybe? Haven't seen him for a while.

The last hockey game I watched was Carolina Vs Edmonton, but it wasn't boring. Disappointing result, but not boring.

Don't worry about it man. I really don't consider England to be part of Europe. We are an independent island with more in common with the US than mainland Europe. I'm not actually all that big a fan of Europe myself. And Darth Adroit and I have been corresponding by e-mail so we're cool. The only dick in this thread is Chrisdo, and it looks like he's buggered off now.

Just like Ric said, I look back at Mickey J of the early 80s and I just can't equate the current incarnation with the original. Just like if you had told me the sorry state of Star Wars in 2006 I would no way have believed it.

Yeah, and that's a cool angle, but the old comics and TV cartoons and stuff didn't focus on that, they focussed on him being a big, strong, square jawed all American hero. I can't realate to that, can you?

I gave my friend a fiver before I left and told him what to do with it. If I win I will tell him what to do next.

Well, I'm not a fan of Spain, but that was one helluva comeback. Not sure that penalty was a fair decision, but it didn't really matter anyway.

If USA and Italy qualify, and England beat Sweden tomorrow, I will win 50 pounds. Then I will put 5 pounds of that on USA to beat Brazil (just for fun but if they win I'll get loads I'm sure because it's such a long shot) and the rest I will put on England to beat whoever they play next - which will prbably be Equador or..... GERMANY!

What I hope they do after Wii is.... Nothing for a while. I hate when a company releases a console and then a short time later they bring out a new one. I remember the good ol' days when you either had a NES or a Master System. And that was it for years. Then you either had a Super NES or a megadrive. After that it just got silly with all these differnet companies bringing out different systems every year or so. It took ordinary people like me right out of the gaming loop. I hope Nintendo release the Wii and then nurture it for years, bringing out new and better GAMES, not systems. Remember when they created the FX chip. It boosted teh NES up a whole nother level without the need to buy any new hardware - great stuff. And look at Donkey Kong country. Bloody amazing for a 16 bit machine.

In case you were wondering, yes I am a NES/SNES fan.

I am slightly concerned that over time I will lose my accent. Even after being here only 6 weeks I already notice myself altering my speech slightly, mainly in order to be understood - Despite the fact I am speaking English, people in ND are so sheltered that they have never been exposed to speech variations and therefore don't seem to be able to understand what I am saying (which surprises me becuase surely they have heard foreigners on TV?). Hopefully the need to alter my speech will cease to be a problem when I get to Los Angeles.
