Not sure why really they do it. Piracy? But I'm not talking about encoding, I'm talking about the PAL/NTSC issue, which is something different. My English NES and SNES won't work with a standard American TV.

And I don't think SNES games were region coded anyway - they were just a different shape in the UK to the US so they didn't fit in the slot, but a simple adaptor fixed that. The UK SNES even looked different to the US one (UK one looked nicer IMO)

I just watched the Star Wars holiday special for the first time, and it was HORRIBLE. Seriously, it's the worst thing I have ever seen in my life. Words can't describe how bad it is. And when Leia started singing...Bloody Hell!!

I actually wish I had never seen it now.

Just have them both 'die'. Of course, having Luke with the same surname as Anakin does make it a little hard to keep the surprise...

England have the potential to be amazing, and every now and again they shine, but more often than not they are just average. Thank God we have Equador next because I don't think we are eready for the Germans, expecially as they are the home nation and they are coming off a very strong group performance.

Anyone remember the original Japanese Famicom? It was a sort of rusty red colour and the joypads were hardwired to the console. It also had a floppy disk add-on. (One of my best friends is Japanese and he has one).

I still have 2 NES's (one mint in the box, one for playing) and I also have a SNES, but they are both PAL and they are both in England.

Typical f**king England, throwing it away. The defending on that second Swedish goal was a bloody embarassment. We should have won that but as usual we made dumb mistakes. The life of an England fan is a frustrating one.

Respect to the Swedes for bringing it back though. They needed it more than England, so good for them I guess. I lost my bet though

After learning I can download old NES and SNES games for a few bucks to play on the Wii I'm willing to pay a bit more. I mean, I already have a SNES emulator on my PC, but it's not the same, and some of the ROMS are buggy (for example I can't get past a level on Zelda even though I KNOW I've done all the puzzles correctly.

If they bring out a really good Star Wars game on it, that's it, I'm getting one no matter what.

The whole turn, spread across the prequels and culminating in that one scene, was just very badly done. All that stuff about a good man being seduced by the dark side was never shown. Pure crap. The Jedi academy novels done a much better job of showing a dark side turn.

So what are you saying? That in ANH the rebels destroy a half built death star and in Jedi the are up against a complete one? Wasn't the whole point of the attack in Jedi that the Emperor tricked them into thinking it was incomplete when in reality it was fully operational?

Or are you saying there is only one death star throughout the 3 movies and we see it develop over the course of the 3 films until it is finally destroyed in the finale of Jedi? If that's the case, what happens at the end of ANH? Han and Luke rescue the princess then go straight to Hoth?

I also watched ROTS on HBO and had the exact same response as the rest of you. It is just bad in so many places.

I actually think The Phantom Menace is the best of the Prequels. Which is a joke really.

Sorry Warbler, although I have a kickass phone I really don't know anything about plans in the USA. In fact, I'm hoping to get some good info from this thread myself so when I finally ahve a job and some money I can get a good plan (but keep my existing phone).
