I don't think the particular poster you are referring to is actually all that concerned about his post ranking - he just likes to post (non-sensically or otherwise). Yeah, it can get a bit annoying, but I don't think taking away post count/rankings will help. And Nobody seemed to mind Gaffer and I's post 'war'. In fact, quite a few people got involved, poking fun at me when Gaffer was catching up at me, congratulating me when I widened the gap, etc. It was all good-natured fun.

The main reason post count was bought into question was a certain banned memeber whose name we shall not mention, but it seems to have been a one off. Is he going to be allowed to ruin everybody's fun even when he's no longer here?

Video and Article: Rep Won't Let Customer Cancel AOL Account
Time
^ Craziness

Before I left England I cancelled my T-Mobile account. After agreeing to pay ridiculous cancellation fees I was told service to my phone would be switched off on June 7th. June 7th arrived, nothing happened. I checked my bank account - no cancellation fees had been taken - I was still connected. So I called T-Mobile UK from America, spoke to a customer service guy and explained, and he put me on hold for an hour and a half!! My calling card ran out and I got disconnected. Tried contacting them by e-mail, got an automated response back.

Seagal and God do not go together in my book. Especially after what my Japanese friend told me. He sounds like a dick. Apparently he got very big for his boots after becoming the first westerner to open his own dojo so the sensai challenged him to a fight and he was too chicken.

Plus he makes crap films.

I dunno. In the death Star trench he could panic and want to kill Luke but later he has time to think 'maybe I can benefit from hime being around'. And I like the idea of a 'later' scene in which the Emperor confirms that the boy who destroyed the death star was Anakin's son (as opposed to some random dude also called skywalker). This is all good stuff IMO.

3 for Star Wars, 3 for LOTR ... why is it bad? At least Jackson's giving people the choice of which version to watch. And no, I'm not counting the special "giftsets," etc that you did, but either way, Star Wars DEFINITELY hasnt had just one.

Widescreen and fullscreen? Sheesh.

Seems like there's a double standard.....
You f**cking bell-end!! He's not counting widescreen and fullscreen as seperate releases. He's counting seperate releases as seperate releases. We had the crappy 2004 SEs in '04, then the crappy SEs in a new box in 2005, now we are getting a release in '06 as well. Not to mention countless VHS and laserdisc releases. None of us give a shit about Lucas rereleasing the films over and over - we just want him to release the O-OT ONCE in good, anamorphic quality.

Now, TROLL, please, piss off. Maybe we are a bunch of sad geeks for being here talking/complaining about this stuff, but what you are doing is double-sad.

Why is there such a calm rational to another LOTR release, while the SW DVD's... with a whopping one set currently available, makes people online furious?

The bottom line is that this upcoming set now makes 3 versions of LOTR DVD's available to the "fans". That's 3 different ROTK sets available since 2003-04.

If this was LFL, there would be plenty said about it. But PJ gets a pass.
Probably because this is a STAR WARS website.

And probably because Jackson hasn't repalced Frodo with a walking talking CGI banana in this release.

And that single clip perfectly sums up the American view of football. But let's not get started on that again. Everyone in this thread understands the real beauty of the game and it's not our duty to educate the rest of them.

I hate that bit. Not because I think it was badly done (I think you're right when you say it was some of the best acating and dialogue of the whole movie) but because it was so forced. I never ever ever bought into Anakin and Obi-Wan's friendship, and now all of a sudden when Anakin's lying there with no legs they are 'brothers' and obi-wan 'loved' him? I need to see eveidence of this to believe it, not just a couple of lines of dialogue tagged onto the end of a trilogy.

To all the people who agree with me that TPM is, while horribly flawed, still the best of a bad bunch, get yourself a copy of the Phantom Edit. Less Jar Jar, less overall crap. Still not a great movie, but better.

I didn't realise it was a nod to his 'more civilised age' line in A New Hope. Not a very good nod, but still a nod.

The Wookie battle. What Wookie battle? I swear, and I know I've said this before, but I left the theatre the first time and about half an hour later I realized there were supposed to be Wookies fighting in this movie... and I had absolutely no memory of it ever happening! When I came back the second time, I prepped myself upon going in to watch out for the Wookie battle. Halfway through it, I realized I hadn't been paying attention to the scene I had told myself to watch out for. To this day, I don't really recall what was going on. It was boring and pointless.
I had the exact same experience.

I'm not nitpicking - all the stuff you just mentioned doesn't bother me. I was just wondering about the fading. I thought maybe there was something in the comics to explain it, like a symbiote suit or something (obviously not a symbiote suit but some canon explanation). I seem to remember in some old comic the reason nobody put two and two together and made the obvious connection between Clark and Superman was that he was doing some kind of mental projection trick to make them see a nerd instead of a buff guy in glasses, thought it might be something like that.

That is true, but for now I'll settle for 3350.

I used to wonder if I would make Jedi Knight before the software switch, then I managed to become a Jedi Master. Now I'm aiming for the council.

BTW, does anyone else agree with me that we don't neccessarily need to get rid of the rankings thing anymore? I mean, it's not really a problem anymore.

Exactly...I also said this in the other Superman thread, but what's with all the dissappering and reappering shit at the end of Supes 2?

And if Superman is faster than a bullet, why does it take him like 5 mins to get from Metropolis to Paris?

I'm only fucking around, who really gives a shit, it's just a film!!
I always wondered how and why in the film Superman sort of 'faded' from Clark Kent to Superman. He didn't get undressed to reveal the superman suit underneath, he just sort of 'faded'. Even in the revolving doors it didn't look like there was any undressing going on, just 'fading'.

Anyone got an answer for me? Huh?
