That doesn't mean I don't check it out multiple times a day, hoping for a worthwhile discussion I can be a part of. And as for the preservation threads, well I'm with Hotrod on that one, but again, I still check it regularly and post when I have something to say.

Well I could try posting on the General Star Wars session on the "Form a new sentence using words from the six films names" thread. Or posting on the preservation threads and continue to be ignored because I don't actually DO fan edits.

Or, either of you could--God forbid--start a thread.

Forums are what you make of them.

Lots of replying. Not enough posting.
Are you kidding me?! I have started countless threads on this forum. I am also one of the few posters who tries to avoid starting a new thread if my comments can be included in a pre-existing thread. I even tried to start an off-topic thread (the long bridge club) so people could post random thoughts and discussions without clogging up other threads or starting new ones. But maybe next time I want to let everyone know what my new favourite scene in a Star Wars movie is, I'll take your advice and start a new thread.

EDIT: I was going to be childish and start a 'is the world round?' thread, a 'Star Wars episode numbers game' thread, a 'why I haven't purchased the non-anamorphic star wars DVDs yet', a 'the DVDs are technically not the theatrical versions' thread and a 'what did you have for breakfast' thread to prove a point, but I won't.

Does anyone here watch Family Guy? They do a ton of SW spoofs!
Time
I like Family Guy and appreciate all the references, but the show seems very random - it seems that merely including a pop reference is considered to be funny and clever. In the heyday of the Simpsons, movie references were well-thought-out and really made me laugh, but now with shows like family guy it's just 'hey, there's Boba Fett, hahaha'.

May as well suggest the Earth isn't flat and that venturing off into the distance won't result in them falling over the edge.

So in conclusion, your 'edge of the world' comment is unfounded.

You might also notice that I was siding with the mods and defending ot.com in general in my first post in this thread.

Well, as long as he's not being overly offensive he should be able to air his opinion. Personally I have no problem with the mods here and never had, and the fact that Rebelone can make a comment like that without being banned has pretty much answered his own question.

The X-Files - Worth Watching?

You get what I'm saying though, right? - a fairly original idea which eventually bacme way over-used and commonplace due to the popularity of the movie/show it featured in.

17 anal probes.

I personally became a believer after only 14 anal probes.

Where does your screen name come from?
Time
Mine is basically a bad and unfunny joke based on the line 'Obi-Wan was your Father' which was originally delivered by Dave Prowse as Darth Vader on the set of ESB to keep the plot twist a secret (The line was later dubbed with 'I am your Father' by James Earl Jones). When I was signing up I had no idea I would end up being such an active member of the OT.com community so I didn't give much thought to my name - if I had it would be something cooler and/or easier to type (maybe just 'Yoda')

The X-Files - Worth Watching?

The DOP on the show was a guy called Bill Roe. His work on the X-Files won him the ASC Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in a TV Series (he was also a nominee a number of times). I would personally say that at times the show reached a level of cinematography on a par with cinematic quality (and at times better). The look of the X-Files has been shamelessy copied ever since to the point where people don't know what they are looking at is a rip-off because it's so common (kinda like the Matrix / bullet time).

What do you mean Mike?

The show is fictional, but for the most part the stories are based on actual phenomenon/legends. Whether or not Aliens and abductions are actually real I can't say (I believe they are, btw).

I mean are they real on the show?
Yeah, they are real on teh show. i.e, Mulder is not paranoid - this shit is really happening: he just has trouble getting evidence to make other people believe him.

Mr Timberlake is on the cover of Rolling Stone this month - Rolling Fucking Stone Magazine!!

I totally agree with everything you said Obiwampa.

Real music is now a niche underground market.
