Cobra Kai Complete Series Fanfix

Good luck with your edit.

I’ve been working on a Cobra Kai edit. Its mostly an experiment based on a theory I have that these seasons would perform better as single movies than a long-form series. So far, season one is working really well.

I suspect future seasons will be more difficult.

I’m watching this, and am deeply interested in your cuts which are really strong so far!

Good luck!

Thanks mrbenja0618!

I contemplated doing movie cuts as well. I think Season 1 would lend itself well to that. But I came to the same conclusion you did, that the following seasons have so much more character moments, that it’d be hard to trim so much without losing a lot of what makes those seasons great.

Cobra Kai Complete Series Fanfix

Hello!

I’m a huge fan of Cobra Kai, but there are some bits I find hold it back. This will not be a super heavy edit, just minor changes here and there.

My goal for this edit is to trim:
Flashbacks (to the original trilogy and scenes of previous episodes)
Comedic Relief Characters (Louie, Anoush, Stingray, Brucks, etc.)
Product Placements (only if they are a point of focus or forced-feeling)
Cringey Scenes or Lines (obviously subjective, but maybe you’ll find them good cuts too!)

I also plan on adding in some of the good Deleted Scenes for the first 3 seasons that were included on the Blu-Rays.

Mando EP3: A New Path (A Book of Boba Fett Edit) [RELEASED]
Time

I’m very excited for this after your amazing Mando movies! The crawl looks great! And it’s awesome to see the after credit scene stay!

I know there’s been a lot of talks about all the Post-OT shows pulling a Marvel and all lining up for a big conclusion series that wraps all the story lines together.

Just a hypothetical idea for the future… Do you plan to combined all the series together into a series of movies in the future? You say that you will add some of the Book of Boba Fett flashbacks to the Mando movie edits, but what if we get flashback scenes of how Boba got to where he was when we see him in Season 2 of Mando? Or say we get scenes from the Ashoka series showing how she got to the planet we see her on in Mando season 2.

It’d be really cool if by the end of all these Post-OT series, you were able to do a series of movies with all the characters story lines running along side each other.

Obviously this whole idea is a long ways away and also depends on just how well the shows could mesh but it could be something really awesome if it worked out. Would love to hear your thoughts on this!

This deepfake is on youtube: https://youtu.be/cbrzXdiuxi4 , i think it looks awsome!
i also like the fact that they changed the voice to match haydens.

Stuff like this is truly exciting! I know to some this stuff is blasphemous, but I can’t wait to these truly implemented in a believable way. Hayden as Vader and Ewen as Alec in the OT is just perfect.

It’s just a somewhat blurry deepfake, nothing horrible.

Sorry, but even if deepfake (or whatever the technique used for the show is called) is fine for funny videos on YouTube, I expect something better from a streaming/television show or movie.

They should have used a different actor without any CGI nonsense. It was bad in Rogue One, and even worse in Mandalorian.

Well, I would personally disagree. I think the deepfake looked much better than the typical “funny videos on YouTube,” and I think it was the best option for the scene. Luke needs to be instantly recognizable as Luke, especially when the dialogue doesn’t even mention his name. If they recast, I’m sure a lot of people would walk away with the impression that he was just some random Jedi, which is probably not the impression the creators would want.

I agree. While I’m fine with the Sebastian Stan recast, I’d still want to see it touched up with a deepfake to look exactly like Mark Hamill. It’s the same problem I have with Solo. Harrison Ford is who registers as Han Solo for me, so when I see the new actor, it completely sucks me out of the movie.

To me, just pretend the Mon Cala actually repair it. He can pay for the repair and then cut to him flying in space all shiny and new, then cut to the repairman contacting Gideon.

The Siege doesn’t have any real character development, whereas Chapter 15 has a big sacrificial moment for him. It may feel like a “side quest”, but he’s giving up his cultural values to save Grogu. That’s huge, and very important to the main story.

This. I agree that The Siege is way less important than Chapter 15. The Siege is way more of a side quest that’s un-needed.

Unpopular Opinion Thread

I don’t mind most of the special edition changes to the OT. Things like changing Boba Fetts voice to Morrisons for example. I’m all for continuity with the PT and OT.

Not a huge fan of Ashoka. Hear me out on this one. It’s not so much her character. But more to do with how important she feels in the grand scheme of the PT, while never being mentioned a single time in the PT. She just has the shoe-horned in appeal that I can never quite shake.

The Sequel trilogy is terrible. So terrible they aren’t even fan-edit fixable. But this isn’t really a controversial opinion, at least in some areas of the fandom.

ROTJ is my all time favorite Star Wars movie.
