A new, much better quality version is now live. Thanks for your help.
I followed the Star Wars.com link and it led to the same noisy version as the one on You Tube, however, you're absolutely right: It is on Disk 4 of the Editdroid special features, still green, but much better quality.
Thank you!
Does anybody here have a better version of this? If you have seen the little featurette that aired on CBS in 1984 as part of the network TV premiere of Star Wars, you may have spotted a clip of Walter Cronkite meeting with George Lucas. I was able to track down one copy of the whole segment on YouTube, but the quality is not good. If anyone knows of a better source, please let me know.
Thanks!
Any updates on this project?

The second image in the album (this one), looks like it came from Team Negative1's LPP print, note the green stain and the frame edges.
Aye, it did. That album has last year's attempt at a correction, as well as that attempt to repair the Negative1 frame, among with some other miscellaneous items. The most recent album is titled "7-9-13 Star Wars Color Correction", that shows the final effort, and has almost a hundred comparison shots in it.
Ah, that makes sense: Williarob's looking in the wrong folder again... But for a moment there I thought there might be another version of Star Wars that had a green stain on it in that scene.

Here's a company that might do it:

Thanks for the feedback, Airwave.
My pleasure. Thanks for doing the subtitles. I decided to do another read of your updated version to see if I missed something while reading it the first time. I have two small corrections. At the start, in "[ Introducing The Sources ]", "the" and "sources" should not be capitalized (alternatively, capitalize the whole thing). Also, "X-wing" is spelled with a lowercase w.
In addition, this time I decided to check that all references to users on this forum and their projects were spelled and capitalized the way they do it themselves. I have the following corrections to usernames and project names:
Dark Jedi -> dark_jedi
Team Negative One -> team negative1
Puggo Grande -> Puggo GRANDE
This is the way they themselves spell it, so I figured we should respect that.

I have left one deliberate "bluray" instead of "blu-ray" for search engine keyword optimization since I bet a lot of people Google for "bluray" without the hyphen.
That shouldn't be necessary. When people search for misspellings like that, Google automatically corrects them. Notice when searching for "bluray" all the highlighted matches to "blu-ray".
Awesome. The Transcript has been updated to reflect the username corrections and fix the last "bluray". If there are any other corrections you think I should make, just let me know.

Thanks for the feedback, Airwave. I based the English subtitles on the video transcript available on TheStarWarsTriology.com, so those errors carried over. ..
I have also updated the transcript with these corrections. I have left one deliberate "bluray" instead of "blu-ray" for search engine keyword optimization since I bet a lot of people Google for "bluray" without the hyphen.

I just won a 007 LD lot that has TLD, OHMSS, and Octopussy with digital sound. The others have analog sound but I'll see how they compare. I plan on synching these with the BD video. I'll share them if I am successful.
Awesome. I look forward to hearing it.

For me- Mono all the way.
Same here, Mono all the way. Reminds me of when i first seen Star Wars on t.v. in the early 1980's.
It is also how many of us saw it first in theater in 1977.
My dad took me to see it in the theater in '77 when I was just 2 years old. I don't remember it at all, but my Mom said I loved it. Oddly though, I do remember being taken to see both Herbie goes to Monte Carlo and James Bond The Spy Who Loved me at a drive-in double bill, but I suppose that could have been in 1978 if they were still playing.
A transcript of the documentary in English is available here, which might be helpful to those of you creating foreign language dubs and subtitles.
I also posted this awesome featurette on TheStarWarsTrilogy.com, hopefully it looks better there than it does on Youtube and you can also download the original file.
For the box art I'd try Star Wars on Video
Did you try this site?

He seems to have more or less converted the entire blu-ray saga to an image sequence and uploaded some from every scene...
Dr. No and Goldfinger have music and effects tracks, but From Russia With Love does not.
I have added a link to download them both on the bottom of my original blog post:

I know this is old, but is there anyway to get hold of the Music and Effects tracks? (or are they on another edition?)
I have them. Just give me a few minutes to find and upload them somewhere...

In the DTS audio thread a few of us were chatting about a project that would marry the DTheater 14GB video with the DTS audio for the movie True Lies.
Dark_Jedi expressed interest in putting the two together if he had the audio/video to do it. DVDMike, myself, borisanddoris are among the others who would like to see this happen as well. The DTheater video presentation is very nice and worthy of some sweet audio options. Considering the poor treatment movies like this are getting on Bluray we figured it would be worth the effort.
Is there any interest in it aside from the few of us?
I'd be interested.

And after all that, he can fix the Holiday Special. :D
It's already been done: CLICK
With all the bad stuff being cut out, run time came down considerably though.
Does anyone have this to share considering the file was removed?
Download it here

Looks brand new! Don't know how long the send space link will be good so I have posted it here:
http://www.thestarwarstrilogy.com/starwars/post/2012/10/25/Star-Wars-Holiday-Special-Boba-Fett-Cartoon.aspx
I have also converted it to an MP4 so you can watch it online.
Oh shoot. It's been taken down again. Anybody able to upload to myspleen?
It's also still on thestawarstrilogy.com at the link above.
Edit: Oh crap, you're right, the download link is broken. Don't know how that happened, but I'm re-uploading it now, so it will be back in about 10 minutes.
I see that this week Ebay has original 1982 rental tapes listed for as much as $7500! But if you are looking for one another seller is offering what he claims is a privately owned (never rented) copy of the rental (not retail) version which was purchased new in '82 and the bidding is currently at only $1.04.
Anyone looking for The Making of Star Wars as told by R2d2 and C3P0 might be interested to know there is a 16mm film version on Ebay...
Count me in.
Part 2 of this interview from the next issue of Starlog is now available too.

Yeah, I know, but I was trying to avoid having to do that... well maybe one day I'll do it properly, for now the stereo mix is good enough for me. It is after all, just for the kids.
Yeah, the stereo is fine for this purpose. Just please don't spread the 5.1 version. If it's available some people will think it's valid and jump on it just because of the '5.1' tag.
BTW, next time someone does a kid-friendly version, it's better to rip the subs and then read it through (or look for the bad words by searching). Less risk to miss something.
Good idea. I didn't think of using the subs. I did go online and find the script though and searched through that.
