Alright, here’s my final cover, with different (and rather spoilery!) art.
The cover already comes ready for printing like all my others in this thread. Feel free to use any other versions of the cover I have posted but I think this is the one that I’m personally the most happy with.
Thanks,
Sherman

I like the “do not make copies” logo.

"Best" home releases of the pre-SE original trilogy?

The first dvd release of Titanic is a rather unique example of a new release non-catalogue title that, for whatever reason, wasn’t encoded for 16:9 displays.

I was unfortunate enough to pick up that release at a garage sale. I don’t know why Cameron movies have a tendency to get shitty DVD releases. I suppose it’s not as bad as the Abyss, though. I’m not even going to bother with the DVDs, since my Laserdiscs are from the same master. I’ll just hold out until it makes its way to Blu Ray.

I’m sure when the unaltered theatricals come out there will be much fanfare. They wouldn’t release them if they weren’t trying to make some sweet dinero, and they wouldn’t let that sweet dinero go because people assumed the set was just a standard SE double, sorry, triple dip (wait, quadruple?). I seem to remember the GOUT being the main point of interest in the marketing for the 2006 DVD set anyway.

The current SE has had 4 physical releases and a digital release.

4? Do the steelbooks and saga repackage count as separate releases? They came out at the same time.

In my count. I also forgot about the original BD trilogies, which by my count takes it up to 6. Then if you want to include the 04 SE, it had 4 releases, bringing it to a grand total of 10 on modern formats.

The recently released official Celebration itinerary has the screening listed as “Star Wars: A New Hope”. All that can really be inferred from that is that they want to be consistent with TFA’s downplaying of the episode numbers, but the fact that Disney isn’t squeamish about switching around the title of a film from before they acquired LFL gives me a small amount of hope that they’d be willing to walk back more the extreme Lucasisms in the future.

Related to all this (in that, I wonder what is even available for them to play at the event), does anyone know what version of the OT was played in those theatrical marathons when TFA released? I’ve been wondering if it was fairly new DCPs for the 2011 versions, or if they still have to theatrically distribute the '97 SEs.

They were DCP’s of the 2011 version, but somehow looked worse than the Blu-ray, my source tells me.

They probably just don’t resolve well blown up that large. They were telecined at just under 1080p, so blowing them up to like 40 feet across or whatever probably just didn’t work out too well. Another good reason why we need at least a new master, though Legacy would be preferable.

And here is the new Mt2s file (for the '81 crawl only):

Let me know what you think. Also let me know if you can simply swap out the old file of the same name in the iso. if swapping out the file breaks the blu-ray, let me know and I’ll upload all the supporting files…

How would one go about doing that?
