How dare you Lord Peeler! you come in here, you use the icon that belongs to his Highness Emperor Jay and then you call the Original Trilogy a Rough Cut!

I state this here and now, I will never buy the "special edition" on any format be it VHS,Laserdisc,DVHS, DVD, or HDVD until they release the OT on DVD and if you bothered to look around on the this forum you'd see where others have said so too!

You say the majority prefer the "special edition" even if they do, don't you think the 50,000 signatures justifies releasing both editions of the Trilogy on DVD. This site is not against the release of the Special edition it just wants the original released as well.

If they could do it for Terminator 2 why not for the Star Wars Trilogy?

HE ASSURED US THAT IT WOULD BE DONE. SURE ENOUGH AT 5:00 PM THE GUY'S ELECTRICITY WAS SHUT OFF.

Not all changes are bad. 1776 is a good example. The 25 minutes of footage restored althought not in the orginal theatrical release were in the orginal Broadway Musical. So in a way what was seen in the theaters was not the story in its orginal form but what was released on DVD is. And unlike Stars Wars the scenes improve the movie. Some of the scenes were taken out for stupid reasons. For example, a whole musical number was removed because President Nixon didn't like it. He felt it cast Republicans in a bad light

You see the song had those in congress opposed to declaring independence singing "To the RIGHT never to the left always to the Right forever to Right!" I understand how this could upset Nixon but should a scene from a movie about American indepence be removed because the President doesn't like it? I think not. This scene and others like it should have stayed in the orginal theatrical release and I sm happy that they have been put back in. The OT however is a different story.

I didn't say it should take place on Middle Earth! I just think Star Wars would be better off in someone elses hands because I think that Lucas has cracked. Besides, which trilogy is better the LORs or the prequels?
