yeah, but you can still feel sorry for them. People in Florida know the risks of hurricanes, and people in California know the risks of earthquakes. Does this mean that when hurricanes and earthquakes happen in these areas that we do not feel sorrow for the people who've been killed, injured, lost their homes, etc?

yeah, but do you really think they sat around and asked "what if Jay doesn't make it at 10 and NBC wants to give him the Tonight Show back?" ? It was a risk, but do could you expect them to think that they'd only the several months they got?
that reminds of a forum member of another place who faked his own death. I and others got taken in. I eventually forgave for it, but we got into a fight about something else and are no longer on speaking terms.
I truly hope Lucas never makes another Indiana Jones movie. I do not need to see the Indiana Jones Trilogy raped again. However if he or someone else made another one and people here that I trust said it was great and as great as the original, also if Lucas does what he should do with OOT so I can end my boycott of anything Lucas, I might see the new movie.
well, maybe I and others have demonized Leno too much. After seeing more info on the situation. I will agree that Leno isn't the bad guy. But I still don't believe Conan is the bad guy. The bad guy imho, is the Network.

yeah, Conan may be able to get another show on another network, but it won't carry with it the legacy, history and prestige the Tonight Show has.
The people I feel sorry for are those that work with Conan behind the scenes. Some of these aren't people who are making millions of $$, They relocated across the country from coast to coast. Some probably sold their houses on the east coast and bought news ones on the West coast. Some of them probably had to take their kids out of school. There lives were uprooted and and for what? Just to be fired several months later. That just doesn't seem right.

It also makes it clear, again, that Conan's jabs at Leno - "you can do anything in America, as long as Jay doesn't want to do it also" - really appear self-serving, as well as incorrect. Jay didn't want any of this - he didn't want to be forced off the Tonight Show, didn't really want a prime time gig, and he's not telling NBC to move Conan out of the 11:30 slot. Conan has been less than truthful and unnecessarily snarky through all of this.
I'm not sure whether to believe Leno or not. He may just be saying all this to make himself not look like the bad guy. I find it difficult to believe that Conan went to NBC and said "either give me the Tonight Show or I'll leave" and the NBC chose him over Leno, six years ago. Doesn't make much sense. Then again, not much the network has been doing recently does make sense.
They lost in the Superbowl. But I'm not sure that losing the Superbowl had anything to do with leaving the players in for too long. I don't seem to remember them suffering any serious injuries.
Yeah, if I was a Viking fan, I think I'd be upset that they risked injury to Farve that way. However, I'm not a Vikings fan and I won't lose any sleep over a team running up the score on the Cowboys. It couldn't happen to a nicer team. The Cowboys used to do that to the Eagles all the time back in the Tom Landry days.
I'm siding with Conan. Whether he got the Tonight Show promised to him under threat of leaving or not, the promise was given and is now being taken away. Anchorhead, you complain that the Tonight Show is too much like his old show, what did you expect it to be. The only reason the Tonight show under Jay didn't "look like his old show" was because Jay didn't have a show. Jay certainly didn't run the show the way Carson did. All of the hosts change the show to fit their own styles. Just what would Conan have to do to make it THE Tonight Show?
NBC wanted to move the Tonight Show out of its traditional timeslot, the slot its been in since before I was born. Conan could have agreed to it and kept "The Tonight show", but instead he refused because he thought the changed timeslot was not in the best interest of the Tonight Show. What NBC would have done to the Tonight Show is wrong. As for Leno being forced out of the Tonight Show, if Leno really wanted to keep the Tonight Show he should have been more vocal back then and refused to leave. If NBC had to choose back then between Leno and Conan, which do you think they would have chosen? Leno agreed to the 10 PM show, no one put a gun to his head to do it. It failed. What the NBC is doing now is just wrong and Leno could have ended this by just walking away and let Conan continue with the Tonight Show.
Ferris, give Conan a chance. He may grow on you. When he first took over Late Night from Letterman, I thought he was terrible, but he grew on me. I like him, I believe his concern for the Tonight Show and its legacy is legit.

I really not sure how that is an old stereotype. I've seen very few instances in fiction where whites were turned into nonwhites. To me it makes sense that Jake is a leader in the battle. The enemy are the humans, Jake knows the humans and their technology better than any of the Navi would.
you may be able to get by the Vikings, but don't expect to be watching the cowboys in the Superbowl. What I think you can expect is the playing of "When the Saints Go Marching In" during Superbowl week.

I don't know much about it, but I would think it would require much time and patience. It would not seem like an easy thing to do. I think you could very much consider it an art.
yeah both are wrong. I wonder, if any among the killed or wounded are truly devote Christians? I'd like to hear from them. I mean if god is punishing the people of Hatti because they turned to Satan, what do the truly devote Christians of Hatti think of god punishing them along the those in Hatti who are not Christian? Surely god is smart enough to think of a way to just punish the non Christians who turned to Satan without punishing the true Christians who did not turn to Satan.?
