they did???
All I can say is that I'll bet he ate good on Easter. C3PX, I'm sorry if it sounded like I was trying to debate you. I didn't mean to come off that way. Btw, what was your friend doing for a living at this time? I would think it would be very difficult to keep working while fasting for so long. Where would you get the energy for it?
someone is going to have to help me out here. I've never been in a fantasy league. How does this drafting thing work? Can I get all the Phillies' players?
Well I would have to agree that just because Jesus did something, doesn't mean we can. Ever made the blind see or the lame walk? Ever raise someone from the dead? didn't think so. I'm really not sure how your friend managed it. If a person goes without food for long enough, he/she will die. That is a fact.
no, you can't let this slide. You must admonish her for her wrong doings. We've really got to crack down on this stuff.
how can you give up all food ? If you did that for the entire season of lent, you'd die.
I'm not sure I'd want to give up the things I'm most dependent on. Whatever I give, it needs to be something I'm capable of giving up for the entire season of lent. If I were to try to go with something big that I'm dependent on, I'd probably fail and end up going back to it before lent ends, which would defeat the purpose.
I also don't this to be hazardous to my life. Giving up running water or electricity(in the middle of winter) might be hazardous.
C3PX, if I gave up the internet, it would mean I couldn't post on the forum. You wouldn't want that, right?
I didn't mean for you to stop posting in this thread, Davnes, nor did mean to offend you. But I just don't get the idea that by giving an opinion, I'm somehow taking part in the "cluster-f___". If we following your logic, the only one's you'd hear from on the subject would be the ones who are, as C3PX put it, demanding his blood and an apology.
ok.
I've never done it before, but I am thinking of giving something up for lent, but just not sure what I should give up. It has to be something meaningful, something that I wouldn't/shouldn't give up for other reasons, and something that I'd go back to afterwords. This requires alot of thinking.
I don't see how, its just me giving my opinion. I don't follow this story every second of everyday. I try to avoid it when possible. Someone created this thread and I weighed in. A couple of posts in one thread on the subject is not making my business. If I honestly feel that its none of my business and I see that others are making it there business and and over-blowing this story, why shouldn't I say so?
by your logic, you are making it your business as well.
another thing,

a couple of posts in one thread does not stop me from doing other things.
btw, The way you made it sound in your first post in this thread makes it sound like those that say "its none of our business" are the only ones making it their business. I don't think I am making it my business and their certainly others that are making it there business(I don't mean you Davnes, I mean those that follow this story like crazy and/or those that feel Tiger somehow wronged them)
let me get this straight, I'm making it my business by just weighing in and giving my opinion???
I'm still not understanding the point you are making.

That plastic cap that went on the bottom of 2 litre soda bottles.
I don't remember 2 liter soda bottles having any sort of cap on the bottom.

Clovers(yet another long gone store, it was kind of like Walmart, but much much better)
Yes, I miss that store.
Yeah, There was one in my town within walking distance of my house and school. I used to walk there from school and do my Christmas shopping there. I have fond memories of it. Btw, are you from the Philly area?

Interesting how people who say "it's no one else's business" are the ones making it their business.......IMHO*

I'd like you elaborate some more. All I've done is say the story overblown and no one else's business. Just how is that making it my business? who is making more their business? the ones that say its not my business or the ones that condemn him and feel they deserve and apology from him or the ones that can't get enough of this story? I'm not understanding the point you're trying to make.
What have we learned from all this?
1 - Men like having sex with girls.
2 - Husbands lie to their wives.
I'm shocked, shocked to find that thee is gambling going on here.
I have joined.
if you ask me this whole thing has been blown out of proportion. The only people he needs to apologize to are his wife and children. Its no one else's business.
I'm in.
when ever you do, don't do an SE version and add cgi and change it so the road shot first. I prefer the original version.
ABC's coverage of the Olympic games.
the problem with Batman & Robin was that it just doesn't belong in the same series as the first movie. The first movie was a very serious, dark take on Batman. Batman & Robin more closely resembled the 60's series. Batman Returns is terrible. Catwoman and the Penguin are my lest favorite Batman villains. It, as well, is too silly to be part of a series with the first film. I think the one I hate the most is Batman Forever, and I'll tell you why. From the first movie up to Forever, they showed you the back story of Batman, The Joker, Catwoman, the Penguin, and in Forever they did so with the Riddler and Robin. But when they had a character who had such an interesting back story as Two-Face, what do they do? No back story! The film begins and there is two-face fighting Batman! It was like we missed the first 20 minutes of the movie. No Harvey Dent getting injured and having his face deformed and going nuts. Harvey just starts off as two face. This of course brings to mind the casting stupidity of the first movie. You can call me a racist if you want, but throughout the history of the comics as far as I know, Harvey Dent/Two-Face was white and in Batman they cast Billy Dee Williams, an African American, in the part of Harvey Dent. Maybe it shouldn't matter and maybe two-face could be played by an African American, but obviously the studio didn't think so. When it came time to do Forever, how come they didn't get Williams to play the role of Two-Face? One can only assume that the studio didn't think an African American would be right for Two-Face. So why hire one to play Dent in the first movie.? When they were making the first movie, did they think there was no possibility of sequels? If I am making a Batman movie and I'm going to have Harvey Dent in it, wouldn't it make sense for me to cast someone in the role who would make a good Two-Face just in case I wanted to have Two Face be a villain in a sequel? It would seem to make sense to me. That is kind of like casting a whiny brat as someone who is going to turn into one of the cool villains in movie history. oh wait . . .
Sorry for the run-on paragraph.
I know its been out while but, Sherlock Holmes. I can tell by the trailer it is nothing like the books.
Indy IV? there was no Indy IV. There are only 3 Indy movies.
