NBC's coverage of the Olympics sucks.

NBC's coverage of the Olympics sucks.
I changed "If the regular members can post in the thread"
to "If the regular members can't post in the thread"
I feel I should note that I made a typo in my previous that kinda changed the meaning of what I was saying. Its been corrected.
Ferris, I think what you might be afraid of in a thread for telling why people were banned is that fights could break out in it. If that is so, I have a simple solution: set the thread up so only the mods can post in it. If the regular members can't post in the thread, we can't fight in there.
Its best to just ignore people like that.
first of I want to apologize for my part in derailing this thread. I saw Vaderisnothayden's comments on the Star Treks movie and just couldn't keep myself from commenting. Sorry. This will be my last post in this thread as 1. the discussion between VINH and myself isn't going anywhere. We just disagree and that's that. 2. I no longer wish to contribute to the further derailment of this thread.
Vaderisnothayden said:Without emotional depth you've got jack shit in terms of art. The problem is there are some pretty mistaken ideas about art and what's of artistic value.

Oh there are other criteria for evaluating movies, sure, but artistic value and emotional depth is the big one.

I'm not going to list a top ten movies, because that sort of list is too hard to make up. There are movies I like more than others, but the list changes and there are different ways to judge such a list. For example, there are movies I think are great and movies I like a lot and while the two lists overlap they are not the same.
ok, how about listing say 5 movies that you feel are great and 5 movies that you like a lot?

Warb, I have no intention of linking to things like the FE/OT thing. This is meant to be fun - I don't want to mock current community members.

Aint no shame in having wounds. I hope.
We all have wounds. If we learn from them, then there is no shame.
very well then. Just be careful.
I really have no desire to revisit the past. There's just too much of a chance of reopening old wounds.
but I'm not a gun hating pacifist. I approve the use of violence in self defense. I have also stated on here multiple times that I am not for the total banning of guns.

Maybe you can take up guns for Lent?
but I thought the point of lent was to give something up, not take up something.

And I don't suppose a Texan Police Officer should give up guns while he's on the job... :(
good point. But he could give them up while he's off duty ;)
maybe Ferris can give up guns for lent. :D

which, having been designed to sedate an animal that weights only a couple of pounds had absolutely no effect on the large beast
hmmmm . . .

That plane had to have had the oddest passenger list of all time.
yeah, it did. *thinks about the cop with enough guns to supply a small army*

As for a swiss army knife, dude, even if I had a nice high powered pistol loaded with hollow points, I'd rather not find myself face to face with a polar bear. MacGyver, or even the strongest man on earth would be lucky if he could get a swiss army knife to even break through the bears skin before it mauls him to death.
I wasn't really talking about him attacking the polar bear with his knife. That doesn't seem his style either. I would have predicted that he would have used the knife cut some branches off a tree and use the branches to cover a big hole. Then he would trick the bear into stepping on the branches, they would break and the bear would fall into the hole. The seems much more his style.

[Batman] then precedes to shoot the bear with a bat tranquilizer dart, that will keep the bear asleep for hours...
*** Eating super buttery popcorn...wondering why Batman would 'precede' to do something...instead of just 'proceeding' to do it......
.......and how effective a tranquilizer, used for bat's, will work on a bear. ***
you are quite correct and the post has been corrected.
*Castaway Warbler says "Here you go, FanFiltration." Gives FanFiltration a pen*
interesting though how Rambo got killed at well even though he did have a gun. hmmm . . .
It also seemed to me that MacGyver was a bit more resourceful on the TV show. I would have thought he'd do something with his Swiss Army Knife. oh well . . .
*as the bear turns to attack the rest of the castaways, this man shows up out of woods:

he throws a bat-a-rang at the bear and knock him out. He then proceeds to shoot the bear with a bat tranquilizer dart(its not a dart specifically for bats, he just likes to call everything the bat this and bat that. It will work on the bear, rest assured) that will keep the bear asleep for hours. The castaway named Warbler remarks "looks like we didn't need Ferris' guns after all" *
its the riddler! I think this guy has few questions for you!

this guy will help you.

but C3PX, I thought you weren't didn't like sports? Also, you don't seem to be the anime type.
Maybe I'll give up my membership in the W. Bush fan club for Lent.
I know who can help us, he just arrived and he won't need a gun to save us.

I've edited my previous post. Yeah, I suppose Ferris could be an air marshal or he had them in the luggage compartment beneath the pane. good point. Sorry to hijack your thread, Frink.
he was political incorrect. Organizations like ESPN take a dim view of that. Not saying ESPN was right, but that's how it is.

what good are the guns going to do you? you expecting to run into criminals or terrorists here?
You gonna chase your food down? Cause I ain't.
I take it Warb has never watched Lost, because there quite literally are both of those things on the island.
that would be correct, I've never watched Lost.
Ferris, I've got a question. We arrived on the island via a crashed plane correct? How'd you get your guns past the metal detectors? Airport security takes a dim view of people trying brings guns onto airplanes.

well if you are not going to chase the food down, how are you going to get into position to shoot it? Isn't the chase part of the hunt?
