What it looked like to me was a little boy sitting on a box or bottom step or something while thinking. But I feared someone would make that joke. Oh well.

This stupid half-finished jail in the middle of Detroit is finally being torn down, after sitting there for most of the decade. It was a physical monument to the incredible mismanagement of the city (the thing was built before Detroit filed for bankruptcy). What a relief.

My goodness, what a waste. Either build the thing or don’t, but don’t change your mind half way through. Obviously this jail was not well thought out.

The article I posted said there wasn’t lead poisoning. That was a huge fear and recognized as an obvious thing authorities should have recognized.

Legionnaires and pneumonia were said to be the result of using additional chlorine in the water that corroded metals like iron that allowed bacteria to flourish.

Still bad but if we care about these issues the details matter.

Can we at least agree that the condition of the drinking water in Flint was unacceptable(be it due to the lead, or chlorine or something(s) else or a combination thereof)?

Ok, I came in here not sure what the thread. Then I found out it was yet another nonsense thread. So I got a little irritated. Shoot me. 99.99999999999% of the time, I don’t even post in these nonsense threads. You want to have fun enjoy. Could have sworn that what happened in Flint was worse that the average lead problem. Perhaps I am wrong.

Children were unwillingly and unknowingly taking lead, a known dangerous substance. I’d call that poisoning. It may have fortunately done no serious damage, but it is still poisoning.
