Just finished putting our tree. It was very strange without my father. I find myself depressed this holiday season. I just can’t seem to get in the Christmas mood this year.

I’m concerned with the tone and direction of the forum as a whole. All communities change over time as members come and go, but I don’t like the way people are speaking to one another, treating new members, and letting personal disagreements that start in Off Topic bleed into the rest of the forum.
I spoke privately with some members about the situation. I apologize for any resulting confusion if you weren’t in that group. Please stop fighting with each other. Don’t attack other members, insult them, or accuse them of things you can’t prove. If someone attacks you, please report it to a moderator (a PM including SilverWook, Anchorhead, Moth3r, and me will do). Do not respond in kind. Don’t act as a moderator if you see something you don’t like; report it if necessary.
The mods are discussing the overall forum situation and what to do about it. There will likely be some changes soon. Please be civil in the meantime.

Then maybe you should contact Jay privately. Myself and Frink did receive a pm about the end of Fo Vs. Frink bs so you responding in such a manner to a response from him looks antagonistic towards the situation.
Jay never PMed me anything, so this is the first I’m hearing of it.

I’m glad you felt it was a nice thing to say. As a Veteran myself I find this comparison to be in very poor taste. This alone is reason enough for one to consider leaving Frink’s off topic.

I wish to bitch about the edition of “A CHRISTMAS CAROL” I got to replace my old copy(I read it each Christmas). On jacket cover it labels the text therein as “the complete and unexpurgated text”. Yet, right at the start of the book, there is a mistake. It is says “MARLEY was dead, to begin with.”. It should say “MARLEY was dead: to begin with.” It has a comma where it should have a colon. Yes, I am nitpicking, but when you label your book as “the complete and unexpurgated text”, to me that means you should have the text exactly precisely right. This is a classic and important piece of literature. With something like this, the text to should be exactly and precisely correct. I hate that my money when to this. I feel as if I have been cheated.
