I love J5. Very excited about the reunion.
I love J5. Very excited about the reunion.
Yeah, unfortunately looks like they're going to go with another mindless army of enemies thing rather than one big baddie. From the looks of things, Tony (and possibly Bruce) creates Ultron by accident while attempting to further automate his suits (perhaps he's trying to give Iron Man up without letting The Avengers down or something), and Ultron replicates himself into an army.
Vision is indeed Bettany. Not sure how they'll introduce him (Ultron created him in the comics).
Good God what a dunce. Ugh.
Man, Kyle is one of the best Star Wars characters out there.
Your costume looks pretty good, if you haven't, you should definitely check out the costuming section of the RPF. Those guys know their stuff about everything costuming-related.

I didn't even know there were that many. I should watch them all.
Double... standards?
UNF I love Iron Man.
This thread makes me miss all the funny posters on OT.com.

Lucy looks like abject shit. Just utter shit; all based on a thoroughly-debunked nonsense idea.
The ignore the "100% of her brain" line and replacenit with "now that lady has The Force!"
"Force Hand Morph"? "Force Hair Colour Change"? "Force Go-Back-In-Time"? Bah.

Doubtful, considering Filoni has confirmed that Stormtroopers are not clones. I believe their intentions are as they stated, revisiting the OT era and exploring the formation of the Rebellion.
Oddly enough, I just listened to him in the SDCC panel for the New Dawn book coming out featuring Hera and Kanan and he straight-up said that the due to the rapid aging of the clones, they have "aged out" of the stormtrooper corps. and because of the deterioration of Jango's DNA, many new recruits have been forced into service through fear of the Empire. There are no clones left in the Empire, more or less.
He explained that this was the reason that, by ANH, stormtroopers weren't great shots and seemed to be a little more incompetent.

The one and only real thing I really like from the NJO is when the Yuuzhan Vong conquered Coruscant and began terraforming it into a world with actual vegetation on its surface. As someone who hates the entire notion of an entire planet becoming paved over, to see a planet like that going through an entire environmental renewel appealed to me immensely.
Of course, it all got completely reversed as soon as the godawful Legacy era began.
Ugh. Every time I remember the NJO and Legacy, I'm more and more glad they got paved-over, so to speak.
What interests me most about all this is how many of these ideas that obviously more sensible people convinced George to drop or heavily alter for the OT cropped up in (or were shoehorned into) the PT, once he had absolute control. Almost as a middle finger to those people who reined him in in the 70s.
As interesting as the drafts are to read, I wonder if we all would have loved Star Wars like we do now if Lucas had been able to run with his original plan. I feel like the answer would be no.
For folks that had been playing Star Wars: Assault Team, there was a pretty big update for it today. Cleaner UI, leagues in the arena, different crates, less energy to play missions, the ability to earn four gems per day, and probably some other things I'm forgetting. Good time to check it out.
Edit: Unless all your progress resets like mine just did. Ugh.
Two new clips from SDCC!
I like the movement of the characters on the show so far. They look weighty and like they have momentum. So many times in The Clone Wars, characters just looked weightless, especially during their acrobatics.
I also feel like the dialogue is more "fresh" and snappier. More in line with the OT than we've seen for a bit. Ryan's gripes about certain lines are a bit unfair, because you can make a movie look like anything you want it to through dialogue choice in a trailer. Even the OT.
Also, after reviewing Tobar's examples and comparing them to the Rebels example, I feel like the Rebels voice could definitely be Tony. It's at least a pretty decent sound-alike, if not. Likely Tom Kane if anyone.
I'm also glad that Ezra's (admittedly stupid) little slingshot thing doesn't seem to do more than annoy stormtroopers. I was worried it would just outright take people down.
Really enjoying the look of the lasers, too. They look very old school with the orange or yellowish cores, and not like flying lightsabers. And the saber blades definitely have that hand-drawn OT feel and look more like rapiers than glowsticks. It's also really nice to hear the scream of TIE's again in a new medium.
The Inquisitor's upper teeth and his lightsaber annoy me, but those are minor gripes.
Mind (Remastered & Expanded) - Talking Heads
Rock My Heart - Haddaway
Mother Tongue - Dead Can Dance
Einschlaf (session 2) - Tosca
Don't Gimme the Funk - Scooter
Life During Wartime - Talking Heads
Put Me In That Dungeon - Charles Mingus
Flash Pan Hunter - Tom Waits
Violin Concerto in D Minor: Allegro - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Permanent - Imperative Reaction
Lakers (feat. Ab-Soul, Polyester the Saint) - Freddie Gibbs & Madlib
Bounty for a Wookiee - John Williams
Fortitude - Moby
Something About Us - Daft Punk
I'm on a music kick tonight, so I may update this as more music comes along.

Am I the only one who doesn't mind the notion that Boba is a clone? Now of course I didn't care much for how it was handled in AOTC, but I think the idea is cool. Making him a clone doesn't make him more "human and relatable," it should actually do the opposite. I think the fact that the most bad ass bounty hunter in the galaxy is actually just a clone of some other guy is actually a really interesting and unconventional sort of concept for such a character.
Like you said, it's not the idea itself that's the problem but how it was executed.
Ditto. It's the theme of the entire PT, really.
I might be disappointed that Boba wasn't his own person, but it wouldn't have ruined the character if it was done really well; hell, it might have enhanced him.
You know, it really pleases me that even years after it's demise, the SWG promo renders of Darth Vader and Boba Fett are still enjoying constant use in memes and other places.
UGH. This is the same feeling I get when I lurk the RPF. You guys are serious talents and I really want to get into this.

There are a couple of Summer Star Wars promotions on young cool brands, including Vans shoes.
100% OT imagery. Usually just "Star Wars."
The future looks bright.
Just looked at those in a store the other day (might have gotten the Fett ones if Vans were my style), right after visiting a Disney store. It's all OT. The display in the Disney Store showed X-Wings over the Death Star. It's almost like being in 1984 (the year, not the book).
It feels like we're on the way to an OT victory. I know it'll all change over to the ST immediately after the release of VII, and we should enjoy the OT mania while we can, but for now it's almost like reliving my early childhood.
Congratulations on your commission.
Keep up the good work.
