I got Max.
I got Max.
I feel like any Old Ben film should be a samurai western kinda deal like Zkin describes, but with a bit more bittersweet sentimentality like Bingo describes.
You did have a victory. Resisting an impulse once means that you can do it again. The fact that you slipped afterwards doesn’t take that away and doesn’t mean that you’ll be unable to resist in future.
Bingo. Focus on the positives.
Keep pushing forward, keep looking for that professional, but above all just keep on fighting.
One thing you’ll learn in therapy is that we have a great deal of control over ourselves. Sometimes it’s not easy, sometimes you’ll need guidance, sometimes you’ll fail, but it can be done. You just need to learn how right now. Please don’t give up.
American Pie Presents: Beta House - 10/10
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - 0/10
narrows eyes
Gonna need some expansion on this.
I assume they changed the suit because pieces would be lost or damaged between films, or they wanted to improve on things like visibility, mobility, and looks to enhance the action from the suit, the actor’s experience in the suit, and the character itself.
“Wow, that CGI sure doesn’t hold up at all almost a decade later. Jesus. Just use the puppet photo, even that’s way better.”
Two decades
Haha boy is that embarrassing. I was focusing on the last digit so much that I didn’t even think of the rest of the date.
16-19.
Ed Regis is here!
“Hey we need an image for Sy Snootles for this Star Wars dot com quiz, guys.”
“Sure, here.”
“Wow, that CGI sure doesn’t hold up at all almost a decade later. Jesus. Just use the puppet photo, even that’s way better.”
Yeah, Ultron basically ruined Natasha as a character.
The Russos work before and after Ultron with her character is what saved it from near destruction. But the whole flashbacks to her origin in Ultron was very awesome for her character I thought. Her inability to have kids and her harsh training was a fascinating addition to her character. But God, that romance was cringy…
Yeah, Winter Soldier and Civil War were highlights, and the backstory stuff in Ultron was cool. Just the romance was so shit.
Yeah, Ultron basically ruined Natasha as a character.
Fight it. Don’t let it win.
Make some calls Monday. You can do this.
(though having a young female scavenger main character rather takes the steam out of my own prequel rewrite)
That just means your rewrite will rhyme with with ST.
I don’t see how would having a female lead be more inclusive than having a male lead.
This is so dumb it’s not even worth explaining to you.
…
My young daughters love Star Wars and Rey has a lot to do with it.
Yep. Star Wars toys featuring females you could get at Target before TFA? Pretty much only the Black Series Leia (which was the slave outfit version, of course).
Now there are books about her and toys and Legos and everything. It’s cool. And I’m not a person who’s down with shoehorning female characters into things because it’s a good way to pander to a certain audience (because I feel like the mentality of “just shove a girl in because it’ll sell well with feminists!” further undermines the credibility of female characters: more female characters doesn’t matter when they’re poorly done), which is honestly what I expected when I walked into the theater.
Fact of the matter is that Rey was developed well, written well, and is a genuinely cool character who stands on her own as an equal among her male counterparts in the film, much like Leia did in '77. I left the theater pleasantly surprised and excited to see where she goes in Episode VIII.
I’m gonna go ahead and say it’s a huge leap to assert that the source of the name “Darth Plagueis” is a line from a poem just because they sound similar.
Totally agree.
Left Calgary last winter for my home state of Arizona.
Today it’s a balmy 105 (41) right now and expected to keep rising. Neat.
Oops. #thoughtthiswasthecanadianweatherthread #longhashtags
Why the hell can’t I make this any better? I takes all of my energy to get up in the morning. Why is this so hard? God, I have to go to work in five minutes. It’s so fucking hard.
It’s hard because you aren’t well. If you broke your leg it would hurt so much you couldn’t easily get about and do day to day things. If you went to the hospital they might reset the bone and put it in a plaster cast and give you pain relief but it would still be a long time before you could run about. Similarly your brain and body are not currently working optimally. You could and should seek medical assistance but you must be patient with the treatment (pun intended). It will take a while to reach optimal use. At the moment you are at the trying to get around on an untreated broken leg stage.
This, exactly.
I know I sound like a broken record in here, but you need to find help. You need to take care of yourself. This isn’t something you ignore, just like you wouldn’t ignore a broken leg. You need to find a professional, and the sooner the better.
I understand it’s hard, but you need to look at this like Bingo said: as though it were any kind of physical medical emergency. You are hurting and you need to be helped.
We’re pulling for you, man. But we can only do what we’re doing, it’s up to you to make the big plays.
The Star Wars Holiday Special.
Everything else is just EU fan fiction in my mind.
I almost made this post myself.
12-15 are up. Changed the page formatting so that the cover is separate from the page numbers which is more accurate in terms of how I’m getting them so I’m not losing my mind wondering where pages went.
They’re coming up to the island!
I just don’t see why it’s a question to be answered, let alone considered.
That’s fine. I’d suggest we fight each other but I’m team Iron Man too.
Perfect!
I would be down for another Double O as a female, though. Someone who was an equal to Bond alongside Bond. I’d be a challenge to him (not in a sexual conquest way, just to what his character is and what he does). We’ve seen people who we can only assume are female Double Os in a couple of the films in the background.
Kind of like if Rosamund Pike was a Double O and not a shit character in Die Another Day.
The best Star Wars fan film I’ve seen was the recent Darth Maul one and it was still pretty bad.
I’m totally in agreement that it’s an interesting exploration of a character archetype to conduct, just that it just can’t be done on a specific character because by altering the character in order to conduct the experiment, you’ve altered the character past the point that you’re conducting the experiment on the original character.
I may also just be really taking this way overboard because it’s late and I’m punchy, haha
Wooo that video is a bit over the top.
Also, I prefer to think of the kid as the imposter, since the real Boba has been around since 1980.
