Remake the OT?
Time
You have a point there. But none of those lines (except maybe "Two fighters against a stardestroyer?!") approaches the absurdity inherent in so many of AOTC's lines. The script honestly feels like one of Lucas' rough drafts for Star Wars, as if he didn't have time to rewrite it. There are striking similarities; Lucas was very capable of the same types of corny lines and drawn-out plot, even in the 70's. But look what Star Wars became (after many, many drafts). I wish Lucas had started writing his prequel scripts about five years before he did; I think we would have a set of seriously different movies.

***The "official" Screenshots feedback thread ***
Time
Sorry if this is off topic, but I couldn't find a better place to put it at the moment.

Does anyone know where to find screenshots of the Han/Greedo scene from the original '77 cropped mono VHS bootleg? This would supply the definitive answer for the formatting of the subtitles and the location on them on the frame, as well as the approximate font used-in the original release.
They have been formatted in so many different ways in the various video releases (in mine, they're in the lower black bar), and I know that the original footage exists to set the record straight. It would help me (as well as many others, I think) in my DVD project.

Thanks!

The Theatrical Differences
Time
Thanks, Neil. Do you know of any variations between the ROTJ sound mixes, or are the 35mm stereo and the “Faces” exactly the same? I know there was little difference between even the 70mm mix and the 35mm mix (Han’s line to Lando), but I don’t know if there are any other changes in any of the original tracks of which I am unaware.

Wanted: Link to lossless mono mix for Star Wars?
Time

Hi, everyone. I have been an avid Star Wars fan for many years and have been reading these forums for a long time before signing up today. Unlike all of my friends, I was raised on the original versions of the trilogy and I can’t stand Lucas’ SE’s. I really appreciate all the work you guys have been doing to preserve the original trilogy in the best format possible. I have the 1995 Widescreen Faces Box VHS set which I’m transfering to DVD with my dual-layer burner. I want to get the laserdiscs, but I can’t at this point. I’m also currently working on recreating the original 70mm mix for Empire from the Faces and the '97 SE tracks. I want to do more research before attempting the 70mm Star Wars mix.

I downloaded the 50 Megabyte MP3 of the mono capture of the '85 UK TV tape, but I was wondering if any of you know where to find the 322 megabyte lossless file somewhere other than the newsgroups (or the uncompressed .wav). If so, I would really appreciate it if someone could post a link for a couple days so I could download it and include it in my project.

Thanks a lot, everyone. As I said, I really appreciate your dedication and I want to get involved in some of the great things you do.
